Who Are You? What Do You Do?

Everything revolves around your answers to the two questions every person you meet asks you, “Who are you? What do you do?”

When you’ve decided to take a stand or make your mark, you will be miles ahead doing the preliminary work of creating a platform to support yourself along the way, so prepare for exponential success.

Who Are You?

To start off, you must define who you are. Of course, you know who you are, but how are people who don’t know you going to know who you are and what you do? Lets stat with who you are.

Try to encapsulate in a few paragraphs your life as it has led until now. No need to go into great detail, but be certain to include key elements which helped develop you into the person you are today. Don’t worry if you think your life has been lackluster or unglamorous. If you think your life was awful, look at these famous celebrities who suffered prior to achieving their highest and best.

Be brief, but transparent. Enquiring people want to know you have a history, and who knows? Your story may be incredibly inspiring for someone else.

What Do You Do?

This is the second question anyone asks you, so be ready with a one-sentence answer about what you do which sets you apart from anyone else. But before you answer this question, you will be miles ahead, if you know your purpose, message, passion, and mission (PMPM). I know many people who were forever known as one thing because they were not congruent with their PMPM at the time they were visited by media exposure and lived to regret it.

Armed with a clear sense of who you are and what your PMPM is, you can go about the work of creating your congruent unique identity, which we refer to as your brand.

Let’s take a brief look at what this might look like. Let’s say, for instance, you are a man who was raised in an urban neighborhood where cats over-populated the area. But you admired the cats, not far from being homeless yourself, as a young child, you could imagine what it might be like to be a disadvantaged cat. You could relate to them, you had compassion for them.

Then, one day, you visited your grandmother in a nursing home, to you, she seemed to be in a crowded facility, yet alone, not unlike a cat. So, one day you brought a cat from the neighborhood, “Scruffy,” one that you had nurtured to health, and gifted it to your grandmother.

It changed your grandmother’s life and the two of them, the grandmother and Scruffy lived out their lives together in joyous harmony. This was when you realized what your mission in life was to be.

Who Are You?

I’m JAG, just a guy who was raised in a neighborhood overrun by cats, but I loved them and became known as the Man Who Saves Cats.

What Do You Do?

I’m a Feline Rescue Engineer and as the Man Who Saves Cats, I match disadvantaged cats with people whose lives can be enhanced by the love and affection a cat can give.

Add to these a simple 30-second elevator speech, which you have practiced and can quickly recite verbatim and you are almost there because you’ll want to make sure you…

Buy the Dot-Com

In my Branding Masters seminars, a key component of capitalizing on those brief moments in time when the planets align, and you have a few seconds to capitalize on your media exposure, the dot-com makes all the difference. So, having the dot com which represents who you are and what you do (if at all possible. If not, keep reinventing, until you can find an available and catchy dot-com) is so important.

Properly prepared and positioned you can fulfill your life’s mission with expanded efficacy by laying the proper groundwork. Then, if you ever find yourself in front of a microphone, for even the briefest of moments, you can take advantage of that moment in time to expand the reach of your mission, even more.

Even if you are a witness to an unrelated freak accident or disaster, the interviewer will ask those two questions. If your answer includes “Man Who Saves Cats” and “Feline Rescue Engineer” and you own those dot-coms, and have information on those websites delineating who you are, what your mission is, and how people can join you in your mission, you’ve grasped the ultimate brass ring.

If this happens to you, and you are prepared, people will mob rush

manwhosavescats.com
and
felinerescueengineer.com

You will see your web servers explode with web traffic, your email servers will smoke, and your phone will ring off-the-hook if you’ve taken these preliminary steps. This man could easily then launch the Ultimate Pet Rescue.

You can also take the necessary steps to increase your credibility as a source and expert in your field. See: Where is Your Credibility?

If you are prepared in this way, when good fortune is visited upon you, others will see it as an instant overnight success, as if lightning had struck, never knowing that you had carefully laid the groundwork to ensure your success in the event of such a lightning strike.

Elsewise, you will have been just another nameless face on the TV, forever remembering that moment, when had you been prepared, could have made all the difference in the world. These moments are very difficult, if not impossible, to recreate.

When lightning strikes will you be ready?

Live Your Life

You have this one life to live and you can choose to live your life, full on, as your own, or you can life your life as defined by someone or something else, like a good little human. (I humbly apologize for the sarcastic overtones.)

You came to this planet to live your life, to do so in such an individualistic and magnificent way. Along with you, you brought certain talents, gifts, and special abilities, all to support your purpose and to enable you to best sing your song. Not that your song might be a melody to be sung with your voice, but more like your unique message to be shared by you will have an extraordinary perspective, look and feel, unique to you.

There are forces which abound on this planet which would like to eliminate the inkling of a thought which you might entertain about having anything of significance to contribute to the world. So, they start programming you via social engineering to stamp out any hope of remembering your life’s purpose.

This programming is so effective, that your parents, caretakers, teachers, coworkers, family, and friends, are all under the spell of the powers that want to control you, and they are all trying to prevent your authentic, inspired self from emerging and making an impact. Of course, all this effort is heart-felt concern, as if to be looking out for your best interests.

You can’t really fault or blame people for exerting their beliefs in an effort to “save you from yourself” because they love you, and they so sincerely believe their efforts to prevent you from being who you really are will save you from pain, suffering, and utter disaster.

Live Your Life

The real you, the you that you were sent to this planet to be, is aching to be acknowledged and released. You hear that still small inner voice, that resides in the deepest part of you praying that you will be able to hear it among all the noise. It is sometimes so very hard to hear because it is buried so far beneath the loud inner voice of ego, which is easy to be manipulated and programmed by the powers and their social engineering.

And if that weren’t enough, your conscious mind is under constant attack of a barrage of distracting details, data, media, drama, and trauma, that you couldn’t find a gap in the space quiet enough to hear the voice of your true inner self.

Yet, you know it is there. You can feel it.

Even with all the efforts, supported by all the money and power in the world to suppress the real you, you know there is more to this life than what you’ve been allowed to think of or believe in. And apart of you longs to

Live Your Life

If you really want to live your life authentically and be true to yourself, you might consider creating some sacred space for you to tune in to who you really are. Getting in touch with you, “the you” you were meant to be, will take separation from the things in life which have been placed there to distract you and keep you in a state of trance, or panic.

Your feelings easily distract you, so find ways to reduce or eliminate (at least momentarily) any of the things in life that make you feel bad. Anything that makes you feel angry or sad, find ways to get these things out of your life, at least in the beginning. Later, once you are able to identify and connect with your true inner self, then you can find ways to disempower anything that might try to distract you from your purpose, message, passion, and/or mission (pmpm).

Don’t settle for mediocrity. Make a concerted effort to disassociate yourself from the mediocre life you’ve been programmed to accept for yourself. Take a look at all the programming which you have subjected yourself to which may not be supporting your authentic self. Things like bad habits which may not serve you, but are so effective at distracting you from the authentic frequency and vibration of the real you, that you may have physiological connections or dependency on these substances and/or activities keeping you even more separated from who you really are.

Now is the time to make some clean and pure psychological and physiological space for you to enable you to authentically connect to the real you, allowing you to truly live your life in a genuinely empowered and effective life, free from the social engineering and powers which desire your blind subservience.

As you learn more about what you really want in life, know this is your birthright. All the things you desire (when free from the programming, and some which you were drawn to while under the influence of the programming) are yours to be enjoyed in this lifetime. These desires would not have been placed in your heart of hearts, endearing you to them, if you were not called to enjoy them in their fullness.

All these things are waiting for you to have them and frolic fully in the joy of possessing them and/or living in the energy of them. It is on you to close the gap between where you ware and where you want to be, between what you have now and what you want to have.

Since all you want, and have ever wanted, has already been provided for you, all you have to do to close the gap is to align yourself with what you want and to remove anything which is blocking you from seeing it or having it. When nothing stands between you and what you want, and you are in the vibration of whatever it is, you find yourself in the fullness of it.

Doing a little something-something every day moves you closer and closer to what you want, enabling you to live your life authentically and abundantly.

Ask yourself, “Who am I?” Who can I be? Who have I been called to be and what is my message?

Only you can discover the answers to these questions for yourself.

Be open and prepared for evolutionary changes within yourself, which will affect not only you, but the world around you.

This is your life. Start living your own life today.

Everything Happens for a Reason

Everything happens for a reason and the reason is you. For without you, would any of this, anything you could possibly witness or experience on this planet, exist at all. This was all, all of creation, created for you.

On the surface, to even think about all of this being created for you seems a bit beyond your cognizant reach, yet you (yes, you) are God’s eyes and ears. You are here to witness creation, all that it is, from an experiential point of view that only you could provide.

Your experience here, along the journey you travel, is unique to you and your experience, and no one but you could survive and thrive in the life you have lived, and the creator is experiencing your life with you in lockstep fashion.

The creator and the greater part of you sees and feels everything you go through in this life, though you, in your physical three-dimensional form, are for the most part ill-equipped to see your life from the perspective of source.

From the perspective of source, there is no time as we know it, and all is known as it could be known as your life has unfolded and will continue to unfold. From this vantage point of clarity the landscape and meaning behind all things, the utter precision and intricate harmonies of all things is perfectly clear.

You, before you came to this planet, were endowed with a divine purpose which includes your unique message which you chose to share with the world. You also possessed your own individual passion, those things in life which you are enthusiastic about, excite you and give you the energy to accomplish your mission in life.

In opposition to your purpose, message, passion, and mission (pmpm) are the people, principalities, and powers who run the social construct and attempt to control and manage our planet and its inhabitants.

These oppositional forces do not want you to have any knowledge of your purpose-message-passion-mission because if the people were to each embrace his or her calling and live their life accordingly it would result in chaos for the powers that be and the controlling an empowered population would be impossible. The ruling regime would no longer be able to function.

The “powers” program our minds via social engineering and by forced medication through the food we eat, air that we breathe, the water we drink, and the medications we voluntarily (or involuntarily) avail ourselves to, effectively prevent us from being aware of our own divine purpose in life.

Even though from birth we are keenly aware of it, by the time a child reaches the age of six or seven, any knowledge of it has been squashed. Even so, the embers of that part of you remains, striving to be revealed, embraced, and released.

Everything Happens for a Reason

You are the reason everything happens for a reason. Everything that happens to you, to someone else, or in the world around you, harkens to that inner part of you which has been squelched and all but snuffed out, giving you the opportunity to call upon your unique gifts, talents, and special abilities which are your birthright.

You have a unique story that only you can tell. I met a newspaper reporter from Salem who said, “There are 100,000 people here in Salem, and everyone has a unique story. Our paper, and I want to make sure every one of them gets documented and recorded.” A lofty goal, indeed, but he (and his paper) was on to something. He was right. Everyone is a hero, a walking miracle, and so much more; a powerful influencer with incredible insight, a purpose in life to share their message with passion and fulfill their life’s mission. Some call it, “Destiny.”

There is a unique and heroic story in you which encompasses all the experiences of your life. In fact, it is the best story ever told. You may not be able to see it all until your life has run its course but after your race is run all things become clear, or you can embrace that part of you now, and begin looking at your life and everything that happens as being in divine order.

The intention of the social engineers to keep a constant barrage of information, situations, and circumstances which confuse you, overwhelm, or make you feel helpless are all part of the social engineering process, to make you believe there is nothing you can do. The flow so constant and unrelenting that it would be next to impossible for you to have the time or attention to stop and look inside yourself for the answer, to understand that you are either an integral part of the answer, or you’re being the solution was your destiny all along.

In this respect, there is no judgment for any of us, for we all are just doing the best we can with what we have. Though, every now and then, one of us awakens to our life’s PMPM, what happens then?

We see these people, recognize them for breaking through to the other side, embracing all they’ve been endowed with and helped to change the world. Some of them we read about in historical documents, or hear about them in the news, while others continue to grow, evolve, live better lives, and make the world a better place with little recognition or pomp and circumstance.

People are awakening at an increasing rate every day and are breaking out of the social construct, continuing to evolve, and affect the world at large. These people know they are the reason all things happen, and they are doing something about it, even if you cannot see the results directly.

If you can step outside of yourself briefly to review the things that have happened in your life, can you recognize that everything happened for a reason? Didn’t every challenge or unexpected circumstance change the direction of your life, even if in the slightest degree, enough to move you closer to something better? Or if now, didn’t you feel something inside you rising up with the desire to do something about it?

Everything in your life that happens to you or around you is either leading you to something better or calling forth the restrained/ignored/denied hero within you which is eager to be acknowledged, embraced, and released.

Now you know everything has led to this moment.

Is something happening to you right now?

If so, is it leading you in a different direction?

Welcome it.

Or, is it calling forth your inner hero?

Let this part of you emerge.

Could it be both?

Now is the time to realize,

Everything happens for a reason

and the reason is you.

I Want to Do Something with My Life

Many people spend the majority of their life not knowing who they are, not realizing they came to this planet with a divine assignment. I have been so blessed to have had an awareness of my unique and solid purpose, message, passion, and mission which has led me on an incredible journey as I have been answering my call to help people achieve their highest and best since high school.

No matter what twists and turns were there in my life, I stayed congruent with my sacred calling, which takes on different forms from time to time, but always boils down to the original underlying theme of helping people achieve their highest and best.

In doing so, I attract people to work with who have come to the point in their life where they are saying,

I Want to Do Something with My Life

When I meet people who want to work with me (and many call on me due to my specific skillsets and special abilities) it is incumbent upon me to be responsible to my calling when approached by someone who may not be a good match for my area of ministry.

While I talk to or enter into an exchange with someone, I am listening for those keywords that resonate with my calling. Invariably the words and phrases they use are similar to, if not precisely,

I Want to Do Something with My Life

Which is not to be confused with, “I need help with my life,” or, “I don’t know who I am,” or even, “I want a better life.” While these are issues and patterns that show up when I am working with my clients (which could include any challenges one might face in life along the way) the key component I am looking for is that of doingness.

It is not enough to want something, you must actually be willing to do something about what you want. If you are willing to do the work, then let’s roll up our sleeves and do this thing together, and I will march alongside you in lockstep fashion to help you achieve your highest and best, whatever that might mean for you.

Regardless of your age, color, or creed, there is something inside you that yearns for expression, making a contribution to the local community, the community at large, or the world. Considering your own mortality, you might like to leave behind something, proof you were here, that your life had meaning.

We are so blessed to be able to have lived this life, it just doesn’t seem right to take it for granted and not want to leave something behind, something that could possibly make the world a better place is some (even if small) way.

Ever wonder why you feel this urge?

It’s because you came to this world with a calling, a purpose, message, passion, and mission specifically fashioned for you and your life. And you knew exactly what it was, what you were sent here to do, from the moment you were able to think. Now, later in life, you still feel the calling, but you can’t figure out why, and you ask, “If I have such a calling,”

Why don’t I know?

Unfortunately, society and social programming (including parents, other family members, friends, teachers, role models, mentors, the government, and the legal system) has programmed you not to wonder about such things, and if you do… well, that would just be too silly or nonsensical to even dignify with any logical response.

Still, as human beings continue to evolve and the lifeforce inside us continues to grow and emerge, the social programming is becoming less effective. Not a problem for the powers who want to keep you from evolving, their tactic to prevent your evolution is to flood your mind with so much entertainment, information, news, and data, that you couldn’t possibly have time nor the attention to have an original thought, let alone to get in touch with that inner, most sacred, part of you which longs to commune with you, see your life come to fruition, and have meaning.

You’re too busy.

You don’t have the time, nor the resources to even conceive of such a thing as to look for your life having meaning. What it is is what it is, and that must suffice. You lived a good life, you were not a bad person, and you did the best you could with what you have, and God bless you for that.

Still, you can hear the second hand on the clock ticking and wondering if there’s something more… There’s that still small voice calling… and unfortunately, you don’t know when you will no longer have the chance.

A dear friend and former mentor came to me and said,

I Want to Do Something with My Life

This is someone I’d looked up to admired throughout much of my life, as we worked together in the ministry right out of high school. He had a wonderful life, a successful business, and he was revered as an expert by many, still, he felt as though something was missing. So, with my help, we set out to have him write and publish a book.

I was holding his freshly finished manuscript in my hands when I received the call that he had passed away.

You never know when your time is going to run out. We all leave something behind, and we will continue to live in the memories of the people whose lives we have touched, and we may leave our mark on social media, or in other ways when our time has come.

You might even be honored as a hero in memoriam, like Aaron, who left us from his post in Afghanistan at a mere twenty-years-old. He left behind hundreds of people who knew and adored him, as well as some of his adventures as documented on social media and the Internet. We didn’t know, he didn’t know, no one really knows, until the time has come.

The fact remains, if there is still breath in you, there is still hope that you can discover, connect, and fulfill your purpose, message, passion, and mission, if you dare.

According to the legal community, “If it isn’t documented, it didn’t happen.” Shouldn’t your life be documented?

Think about it…

Could you have lived the life you have lived, if it wasn’t for the benefit of others?

No. Every breath you’ve taken, every step you have taken, has led you to this point in time, and if you are ready, you are saying with the rest of us,

I Want to Do Something with My Life

What will you do about it?

What Is Your Mission?

What is your mission?
Show me.

If you’re really serious about carrying out your life’s mission, you have it clearly defined and written out. Why? Because you will need to refer to this every once and a while to see if you’ve been distracted, or thrown off track by life and its many detours.

In the event, you haven’t created a hard copy of your life’s mission, when is now a good time to write your life’s mission.

Although it may sound overwhelming, you need to approach delineating your life’s mission as a continual work in progress, just like you. Having an idea of your life’s mission clearly defined helps you focused on the work which is in alignment with your purpose, and this is subject to change according to changes and growth in your life as you traverse along your life’s journey.

Before you start writing your mission down on paper (or on your device) it will be helpful to do a quick inventory of your unique skills, talent, and special abilities. Also, take into account when you find yourself “in the zone,” doing the things that you are passionate about and/or activities, that when you’re fully engaged in them, time just seems to disappear.

Create a visualization of what your best day ever might look. See it clearly in your mind’s eye. If you could have your life any way you wanted it, what would it look like? Make your wildest fantasy-day part of your life’s mission.

Write down a list of the things which are the most important to you. The issues which you feel strongly and represent your core values.

Taking all these things in consideration, answer the question,

What am I here for?

In other words, assuming you came to this planet with a specific mission to accomplish, the reason for your being here (which you did), what would it be?

Your inventory of your unique skills, talent and special abilities, passions, what your perfect day might look like and your core values all support your mission. They are part of your being, who you are, and are specially formulated for you and the accomplishment of your mission.

Everything you need to accomplish your life’s mission was placed inside you before you were born and in the best-case scenario grew matured and you honed these special skills along the way to today. In others, their innate abilities may have been suppressed or neglected, in this case, it’s time to start allowing them to come to life.
Now, you have a map that will point the way to your life’s mission. You may not have a clear picture of it yet, but do the best you can, knowing that it will become more and more clear as you start working toward achieving it.

Revise you mission as necessary along the way.

If you have no clear idea about your mission, there is little hope that you will do a very good job of accomplishing it.

So, what is your mission?

Show me.
