It is well known and often cited that with pure determination, will power, and hard work you can achieve your heart’s desires. Or you could forgo the extraneous blood, sweat, and tears, by focusing on personal growth and self-improvement.

You can move closer to what you want, or move the obstacles (what stands between you and what you want out of the way) and realize your heart’s desires quicker by changing you, who you are, your vibrational frequency (so to speak) to align yourself with what you want. For if everything is energy, as we are learning in the quantum sciences, when you are an energetic match to what you want, you will have it.

Instead of pushing your way through life, you can execute inspired actions and allow your life to flourish.

Inspired action is different from making things happen through the force of your flesh. Contrary to pure physical force, like literally pushing someone out of the way, chopping down a tree, burning debris, or demolishing a building, you are manipulating universal source energy by executing small, inspired actions.

These tiny calculated love-powered actions act like a magical pebble dropped in a still body of water, creating ripples of pure energy that radiate out to change the world around you, and the effects can have great magnitude.

Not unlike Moses parting the Red Sea. According to the legend, Moses held out his staff and the sea is safely parted so the Israelites could cross safely. For this event to take place, there were a huge number of factors that needed to be in place prior to and following the moment of Moses’ raising his staff for this event to manifest.

Thomas Edison used inspired action to create a working model of the light bulb. It started with an idea which he saw in his mind’s eye using his power of imagination, then executed the inspired action to create a team to conduct a series of experiments to be continued until the idea of the light bulb was realized.

Edison could have locked himself in his basement and conducted 1,000 experiments on his own, using his own flesh and bone resources, but in one fell swoop, he set into motion of series of events that brought his dream to fruition.

The inspired action of putting together that team was preceded by a great amount of detail which made space and resources available as well as the minds of the people who would conduct those experiments. Universal source energy reaches out into the past and the future to energetically harmonize with your heart’s desires.

Using inspired action, baby steps with that magical energetic ripple effect which supersedes time and space, every small step you take toward your dream in faith, affects the actualization of what you want exponentially.

The components of inspired action are a combination of action and inspiration. Inspiration starts in your heart, that feeling that you might like to try, something you’ve never tried before. The thought of it may seem unusual because it’s unfamiliar, but you’re not afraid of the idea of taking such action. And it is in line with the path which leads toward the dream you’d like to see manifest in your life. This is the thought which precedes and empowers inspired action.

Unlike other forms of action, inspired action does not take a great amount of detailed planning, which is associated with the work of the flesh. Not that both are not helpful or will work in harmony with each other but the benefits of producing massive impact from small inspired action will help immensely to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

Inspired action is always just outside your comfort zone, this is the universe calling you into the places where your heart knows the magic happens. So, of course, you’re going to be somewhat anxious about it, but you have an inner knowingness that it’s the right thing to do, and you don’t have to know how the results of your inspired action will unfold, it just does. In the future, you can look back and see the miraculous succession of events that resulted in taking your inspired action.

You will notice that if you trust your intuition, and follow your gut, you will find yourself realizing your heart’s desires long before you ever would have thought possible with just your sheer determined will power and disciplined follow through.

You will also have a sense of exhilaration in anticipation of and following the execution of your inspired action, because you’re conducting life “in the zone,” the zone of inspired creation, and you’re not alone. Find joy the fact that you are living life in the zone with all the greatest minds of this world, who have ever lived lives of expansive creations and satisfaction thanks to your active imagination and inspired action.

So, the next time you get that internal hit to do something that you haven’t figured out all the details of and it’s aligned with your heart’s desire, just do it. Use the resources you have (don’t do anything crazy, like risking your life’s savings) and make a step, no matter how small, and allow it to ripple out, and then as you keep moving forward, you can look back and see the significance in your decision to follow your heart.

Don’t slow your roll. You’ve done it. You’ve decided to make the changes necessary to start living a new life, a better life, your best life and make the world a better place. You’ve taken steps to start making the change, then your motivation just seems to wane, and you fall yourself falling back into the same ol’ same ol’?

Even if you’re taking baby steps, keep taking the action, no matter how small to move you closer to where you want to be. All these efforts are cumulative. Even if you miss a day, you can take another step tomorrow.

Certainly, there will be roadblocks or challenges which you will face along the way. Let fear not be one of them.

Facing your fear and not letting it keep you from doing the right thing is what life is all about. I know it’s an over-used phrase, nonetheless, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It’s all about perseverance in the face of adversity.

Keep on going.

What must you do to change your life for the better?

Do you feel your path ahead is not within your reach? Do you need to take some classes? Do you feel imprisoned by your current situation?

Regardless of how unworthy or incapable, you might feel, you have everything you need right inside of you.

Is there fear about leaving your job for one that will better serve you but will require sacrificing cash flow or security? The false sense of safety and security promoted by society and attached to your “job” is the biggest trap which is used to keep you in your own prison, to keep you controllable and subservient, preventing your growth and expansion.

Be willing to change your world, even if it means taking a pay cut.

Look at the heroes of our age, the people who stood up against what would be insurmountable by others. Who do you look up to? Study them. Use them for inspiration.

If you start thinking, “My life has been so awful,” consider those who have overcome incredible obstacles to live a better life and make the world a better place, take a deep breath and take another step.

Find ways to remind yourself of your dream and make it come true.

Just map it out and do it.

Remember to celebrate your wins along the way. Don’t expect approval or recognition from anyone else, this is your journey.

Looking for back up? Find those people who support you no matter what you do, they have your back. The naysayers? Don’t let them get to you. Kick them to the curb (or put them on hold), at least while you’re moving and shaking to make the adjustments and improvements necessary for your life.

Try to do something different every day. If you are able to do things differently in your life this may put you in a position to meet someone who is likeminded and more supporting, whom you may invite into your circle of influence.

There’s a big world out there, and you are gaining more and more access to it with every step you take outside your comfort zone.

By setting intermediary goal posts, such as completing a course of study, getting a different job, achieving a certain level of income, moving to a different location, starting a business, or whatever it might be, you can see the results of your efforts, and know when it is time to celebrate.

There is no limit to the number of goals you can have, and there is no limit to their size. The smallest of goals, like getting up without hitting the snooze button, or not watching the NEWS (Not Even Worth Sharing), or texting someone in your life a short note of support or gratitude, anything.

The more goals you have, the more you will have to celebrate.

You can repurpose your life and change it massively for the greater good.

You got this.
The post Don’t Slow Your Roll first appeared on David M Masters.

You woke up this morning and you thought, “Oh, another day.” And in most cases, you might admit, that this day is not much unlike any other day that went before. If you dared, you might even reminisce about a time when you believed, believed in a better life, one where you might even be able to find joy in each day and/or to make a difference.

For after all, what good is it to have been given such a wonderful gift as life on this planet without leaving so much as a mark, or making a contribution in some way.

There was a time, and there have times when you truly valued, loved people, places, activities passionately. What were they? Make a list of all the things you love or have loved. Remember? The ideas, the ideals… Remember. What about your dreams, the ones you’ve forgotten, or walked away from, because you thought they were just too impossible, or you may have felt yourself unworthy of them? Write them down.

Pick one of the items off your list, the one that you used to feel the best feeling about, and speak it out. Talk about it, maybe first to yourself out loud. There’s something about the vibration of your vocal chords that ignites the higher vibration of the energy which surrounds you. Then talk to someone else whom you predict will have a supportive and positive response to your sharing. Their affirmation helps to raise the vibration, too. You are breathing new life into your former passionate flame.

Find ways to raise your personal energy point, so that you don’t get caught in the rut of run of the mills day in and day outs. Make excuses to smile and laugh more. Watch comedies and sitcoms and laugh along with the laugh-track (pre-recorded laughter). Read, then tell bad jokes, and laugh at how bad they are. And do something that moves you. I mean, moves the muscles of your body in a positive way, take a hike, dance around the house (or at a club, if you’re so inclined), go to the gym, try some yoga.

If you don’t feel like doing anything, this is exactly the moment when you should take control and do something. This gives you control of your life and takes it away from the people and circumstances that are holding you down and keeping you from living the life you want, deserve, and is waiting for you to arrive. When you feel yourself thinking, “I don’t want to do this,” that’s your cue to do this thing. When you’re done, smile, pay yourself on the back (maybe even treat yourself) because you’re the bomb. Dom this, and you will never be a victim of this life again.

Next up, do something that you haven’t done before. Get out, go to a free seminar at the library, or attend a meeting, go to the court house and randomly pick a court case to watch, attend a church function, or school play. No need to critique the event or activity, just go along and enjoy it for what it is. Just the action of doing something you haven’t done before can excite the synapses in your brain.

Now that you’re on track to feeling more like a real person again, pick something from your list and spend some time with it. If it’s too far off, start making plans. If you always wanted to go to Paris, go online and start picking out things you’d like to visit and see, where you might like to stay, and check out different flight options. (You don’t have to actually book anything, just enjoy the dwelling on and dreaming about it.) If you haven’t talked to your best friend since high school, look ‘em up on Facebook. Reconnect. Call him or her.

Just have fun with going over the items on your list, maybe adding new ideas that occur to you along the way. When you start feeling better, you can start making plans to meet with your friend face-to-face, or pricing out your trip to Paris and figure out, with a little pinching and saving, how long it will take you to tuck aside enough to take that trip.

Planning gives you a huge advantage over not doing anything (like other people). If a $2,000 trip sounds unmanageable, don’t think about having it all, right now. No need to go in debt, or put it on a credit card. Save for it, a little at a time. You could save $5.50 a day, and take that trip in a year. Think of ways you could save a few dollars a day to do something you’ve always wanted to do. What if you could save $10, or more?

This is the beauty of combining planning with action. In all areas of life, you can expect a 300% increase in effectiveness and efficiency from any effort spent in planning.

So, dream, make a plan, and take action.

Now you’re on track for a better life.
The post Not Feeling It? No Prob. You Got This first appeared on David M Masters.

Sometimes you want to do something so bad but it just seems too impossible, distant or out of reach. You can feel like you’re unworthy, not educated or qualified enough, or feel like someone else would be better or more respected for doing that thing that you want to do.

Focusing only on the ultimate goal, the end game, can be just too intimidating because it seems so far off or impossible from where you’re standing right now.

You have the power to take complete control over making your dream come true, or not.

What’s the answer to how to do what you want, if you really want to?

Keep the idea of your ultimate goal out there but take your focus and refocus it on taking small steps that lead you closer to your goal. You don’t have to do it all in one fail swoop. Just move a little closer to it each day or each week.

So, what do you want?

Want to live a stress-free life?

Do something relaxing every day, meditate, take a walk in the park, take a bubble bath with scented candles.

Want to start a new, or build a better, business?

Schedule time to research strategies and ideas – being certain to include taking action (not just research) – every week.

Want to write?

Then write. 500 words a day doth a writer make.

Prioritize

You can prioritize whatever you want and if you are moving toward it on a regular basis, sure enough, you’ll get there.

To prioritize and move closer to what you want (what you really, really want), all you have to do is what everyone else does (I know, they make it look so simple. Right? Well, it is).

Do the Doing of It

Make a plan, and do it. The difference between those who take and those who don’t is all in the doing of it.

Let’s say you wanted to publish a novel (you can use these steps to achieve any goal)

1. Write down what you want

Publish a novel

2. Break down your steps in miniature, each one moving you closer

Create a main storyline plot

Create character profiles for key players and their roles
Create an outline of major events (or chapters)

Write the first chapter as a rough draft

Write the second chapter (rough draft)

Followed by subsequent chapters…

Revise each chapter, flushing out the characters, dialogues, and interplay… (one chapter at a time)

Edit each chapter in succession, one-at-a-time.

3. Determine how much time you will have to allocate for moving toward what you want (daily, weekly, monthly)

I will set aside one hour each day to write my novel, a little each day.

4. Make dates with what you want, set times and dates to keep with yourself for the doing

8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. weeknights

9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on weekends

There you have it.

Make time every day for the doing, and every day you’re closer than you were the day before. Before you know it, your first novel is ready to submit.

Then you can,

Celebrate!
The post How to Do What You Want first appeared on David M Masters.

There are two kinds of people, those who take action and those who don’t. All of the people on this planet are born with a dream, a dream to believe, achieve, be or do something unique and meaningful, but few, very few, do what is necessary to realize their dream; that is to take action.

How can you tell the difference between those who take action and those who don’t take action?

Those who don’t take action are all around you. Wherever you see large groups of people, most of them are just like the majority of the rest of us. They are passive in their pursuit of life. At best, how they spend their time and efforts are basically focused on being a supportive part of the machine, which is integral to the continuation of the machine.

They engage in all the activity the powers behind the machine have given them to distract them from the dream they once had and keep their minds so busy, I mean frantically busy, so they couldn’t have the attention or time to focus on their dream if they had one.

Then there are those who vaguely remember their dream, and think about taking action. These people might even start to research about their dream and taking action to start creating their dream in an attempt to raise their awareness about their dream. They spend the spare moments they are able to glean from the crowded highway of life to research, to increase their knowledge, until they feel confident enough, that they know enough, to take action. But there’s so much to learn. So much information, in fact, that you will never feel like you are informed enough or prepared enough to take action. You’ve spend so much time on preparation and learning that there is no time left for taking action.

Then there are those who boldly take action. You may not know them, personally, but you know who they are. We spend our time and money on them and we focus our attention on them. We watch and support the people who have taken the action to live their dream. We watch them living their dreams in the movies, on TV, on the stage, or on the field. We buy their tickets, play their games, and wear their clothes. We admire the way they think, display their skills, and share their lives with us. We listen to their music, their words, and pay attention to the action they take. We see them, we watch them, we love them and we hate them for what they do.

And what is it that they are doing?

They are living their dream.

Sometimes, we wish we could live a dream, like they have, but feel that we’re just not good enough, or lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time for good fortune to shower down on us, like it did those people. But the truth is,

There are two kinds of people, those who take action and those who don’t.

The people whose work we admire had a dream and took action. In fact, they took massive action.

They didn’t have the time; they didn’t have any more time than you or me. They made the time… Every day.

They’re no better than you, anyone you know, have ever met, or anyone else on this planet. They’re just like you and me.

You might be sitting next to one of them right now. It’s easy to tell the difference between someone who has taken the action to achieve their highest and best and someone who hasn’t. Want to know how?

Ask them what they did today.

Today.

You can tell if a dreamer is tracking their dream and taking the action to make it come true by what they did today to move closer to their dream.

Oh, they might talk the talk; talk is cheap. Did they take action, today?

If they did not, they are still a dreamer, and that’s a good thing. Sometimes our dreams are all that we have, and even if we don’t live our dreams, maybe our dreams can inspire someone else to break free from the mob and take action.

It’s so simple. The people, who achieve their dreams, take action to move them closer to their desired outcome every day. Every day.

Just the fact that you have a dream alive inside you means that dream has already come to pass in the future. It’s already there, already a done deal. Your dream is just waiting for you to arrive. And right now, it’s wondering where the hell you are.

Do you have a dream? Are you ready to take the necessary action to achieve your dream, to make it come true once and for all? Are you ready to live your life on the other side of the screen? Not always watching, but becoming the person you were meant to be? To do the things you were called to do?

Then do it.

Yes, study, raise your awareness, courage, and prepare. But don’t get stuck there.

Take action.

Take action every day.

Be the best you can be.

Live a better life, your best life and make the world a better place.
The post Those Who Take Action and Those Who Don’t first appeared on David M Masters.

Ever know someone who appears to be constantly complaining about everything, the state of the world, being surrounded by evil or stupid people, and of course their constantly being victimized?

A pessimistic chronic complainer, like that, might be off-putting, especially to the optimist. The optimist might see the individual fueled by constant whining and complaining as an ever present drain on their own personal energy reserves. It can be frustrating maintaining an effective level of communication between individuals on opposite ends of the spectrum.

When team-building, I always like to have a chronic complainer on-board, someone who sees problems everywhere they look, even in the best of circumstances, they will offer up a “what if” that could lead to an outcome of apocalyptic proportions. Some might consider this pessimistic influence a non-constructive waste of time, but I think to assume there is little value in looking at anything from a different perspective as folly.

Those who fail to see the value of the complainer may also fail to see the value in the complaint. For is it not true that

Every technological and sociological advancement is the result of complaining

Of course it is not simply enough to complain, for complaining – and continuing to complain – about something exemplifies powerlessness, but to complain, then as quickly as possible find ways to counteract the issue at hand with a definitive action, this person has evolved as the pessimist activist.

The pessimist activist complains about the state of a thing or circumstance and goes about taking action fueled by their angst in the hopes of having some impact on the situation.

Unlike the optimist who focuses on the happy, joyful outcome of a particular situation or circumstance from an, “if only” perspective, the pessimist approaches the same conundrum from the, “what if,” perspective and the pessimist activist takes action based on their desire to prevent a worst case scenario.

And both of them are right

There is not one that is more right than the other, it is what it is, and the teaming of these individuals in a yin/yang approach to tackling any obstacle, problem-solving or visionary project is priceless.

As for the complainer who refuses to take action, they tend to find themselves depleting their own energy reserves and often find themselves battling depression and persistent health concerns. But it doesn’t take much to counteract the effects of complaining by (as quickly as possible) integrating some level of activity to augment the otherwise negative outlook.

For instance, if one asserts, “There is no happiness in my life,” taking the action of creating a little happiness based on the complaint and – voila – you’re on your way to empowering your power of complaining. An example might be to go to a comedy show, call or visit a young relative who looks up to you, take your dog for a walk, buy a new outfit (or shoes), take a hike or walk on the beach… or whatever makes you feel happy. To not do so, only creates a sense of helplessness.

If you’re particularly focused on some other person’s lack of intelligence or propensity for causing dangerous circumstances, taking action on your complaint is better than not doing anything. You could offer a productivity tool as a gift, file a formal complaint or study to teach a class or write a report/book that might be helpful for others dealing with similar people.

If you feel an urge to constantly complain about the state of the world, then exchange your, “what if,” which normally leads to a worst case conclusion, to “what if I could do something about it?” And the something you could do need not be of worldwide significance to have an impact. You could simply post your observation(s) on social media, call into a talk radio program or write a letter to the editor. Your action (though minute in comparison to your concern) may be helpful in making others aware of the potential disaster and may help the idea reach critical mass, which always has – and always will – lead to change.

I extend my sincere gratitude for all the empowered complainers who help to make the world a better place.

Keep complaining

(and do something about it)
The post Power of Complaining first appeared on David M Masters.
