Passion is the fuel that sets your soul on fire. It’s the internal drive that makes everything you do feel alive with purpose. It’s the heartbeat of your destiny. But what happens when that passion has been buried by years of disappointment, trauma, betrayal, or just plain survival mode?

Here’s the truth they didn’t tell you growing up: Your passion can never truly be destroyed. It may be hidden, buried beneath layers of fear or forgotten under the weight of responsibilities and external expectations, but it’s still there.

You may have been born into situations that tried to steal your light. You may have suffered things that were beyond your control, things you didn’t deserve. Systems, people, principalities and powers that said, “No, not you.” But here’s what I want to say to you today:

Yes, YOU.

Yes, you are still called. Yes, you still matter. Yes, your passion can still change the world.

When the World Tries to Dim Your Fire

You weren’t born broken. You were born with a powerful purpose and an unshakable spark. But if your life was like mine, maybe people around you couldn’t see that light, or worse, they tried to snuff it out.

Maybe your parents didn’t understand you. Maybe you were told your dreams were “unrealistic.” Maybe religion, school, culture, or abuse tried to force you into a mold you were never meant to fit.

Whatever it was, it didn’t destroy you. It refined you.

You didn’t come this far just to feel numb and disconnected.

Rediscovering What Excites You

Let’s cut through the noise. Passion is not something someone gives you. It’s something you uncover. It’s what you were always meant to do.

Here are a few quick questions to help you begin uncovering your passion (yes, even if it’s been buried for years):

- - What were you naturally drawn to as a child before someone told you to “grow up”?
  - When do you feel most alive, even now?
  - What do you secretly dream about doing if no one else’s opinion mattered?
  - What injustice, problem, or cause stirs something deep inside of you?
  - Who are the people you feel called to help or inspire?

Start there. Sit with these questions. Journal them. Pray over them. Meditate. Your passion is encoded in your very DNA. It’s not something new you need to create, it’s something ancient you need to remember.

The Power of Passion in Purpose

Once you reconnect with your passion, everything shifts.

You’re not dragging yourself through life anymore, you’re running toward destiny.

Do something that brings you joy, even if it seems silly or insignificant. Follow the breadcrumbs of enthusiasm. You don’t need to leap tall buildings in a single bound. You just need to move one step closer every day.

And if fear rises up? That’s a good sign. It means you’re heading in the right direction.

Get Ready to Get Excited Again

This is your moment.

Not yesterday. Not ten years ago. Now.

You don’t have to stay frozen by the past. You don’t have to remain stuck in a life that doesn’t reflect your soul. You’re not too late. You’re not too old. You’re not too broken.
