Beyond the Hive Mind: Leading with Purpose in an Age of Confusion

You’ve probably noticed it. the world feels noisier than ever. Everyone’s fighting to be heard. Everyone’s got a truth to defend, a system to dismantle, or a narrative to push. The more you look around, the more you realize: it’s not just politics, religion, or media anymore. It’s something deeper. Humanity itself is splintering into what I call hive-mind factions, each group convinced it alone holds the key to reality.

And somewhere in all of that confusion, the real leaders, the heart-centered visionaries, the healers, the builders, are waking up to a greater truth: You don’t have to join the fight to make a difference. You only need to stay focused on your Purpose, Message, Passion, and Mission, and lead from there.

Think of our species as one great nervous system, billions of synapses firing at once. The digital world connected us, but it also made every impulse visible, the fear, the love, the outrage, the hope.

Now the collective mind is fracturing into tribes of influence:

    • Mainstream Media tells us what’s safe to believe.
    • Subversive Media insists everything is a lie.
    • The Spiritual Hive calls for awakening and ascension.
    • The Religious Hive clings to tradition and righteousness.
    • The Parasitic Hive thrives on our attention, fear, and division.
    • And the Algorithmic Hive, the unseen one, keeps us scrolling, amplifying whatever emotion keeps us engaged the longest.

Each side points to the others as the problem. But the real issue isn’t who’s right or wrong. It’s that we’ve forgotten how to hold still in the storm.

Your attention is the most valuable resource on Earth. Every headline, hashtag, and heated debate is a fishing line, cast into your consciousness, hoping you’ll bite.

The more divided your attention, the more control the system gains. The more outraged you become, the easier you are to predict.

So, what’s the solution? It’s not to unplug from life, it’s to reclaim your focus and direct it toward the reason you’re here.

That reason is your Purpose, Message, Passion, and Mission. That’s your compass. It doesn’t move when the world shakes.

Real leaders in this new age aren’t defined by how loud they are, but by how clear they are. They’ve stopped trying to solve every global crisis or decode every conspiracy. They know that’s not their mission. They’re not tuning out, they’re tuning up.

They’ve learned to say:

“That’s important work, but it’s not my lane.”
“I respect those who are called to that, but my calling is elsewhere.”

That’s not ignorance, that’s wisdom. You’re not here to fix everything. You’re here to become fully yourself, to express the gift that only you carry.

The world’s systems are designed to pull you in, to make you think you must have an opinion about everything. But purpose-driven leaders see through that. They recognize that every person has a divine assignment.

Some are called to investigate.
Some are called to heal.
Some are called to build bridges.
Some are called to shine light into the darkest corners.

And you? You’re called to do your part.

When you focus on your mission, you naturally empower those who focus on theirs. That’s how a global awakening actually works, not by fighting over whose truth is truer, but by each person living their own truth with integrity.

The Five Characteristics of the Purpose-Centered Leader

    1. Clarity: You know why you’re here, and you don’t let noise rewrite that purpose.
    2. Discernment: You can listen without absorbing. You extract wisdom, not confusion.
    3. Compassion: You honor others’ paths without judgment or superiority.
    4. Focus: You protect your attention as sacred fuel.
    5. Trust: You move with divine timing, not panic or pressure.

This is not retreat; it’s mastery. When you operate from this place, you become a stabilizing force, a calm center others can lean on.

There comes a point when you realize you don’t have to join every battle to win the war for your own soul. You step back, breathe, and remember:

“This is not my storm. My mission is the light.”

That’s when you move from reaction to creation. You stop feeding the hive and start feeding humanity.

Each time you choose peace over panic, truth over fear, love over division, you help recalibrate the whole collective mind. This is leadership in its purest form: quiet, consistent alignment with your higher purpose.

When the world demands that you take a side, shout louder, or pick a fight, return to this:

I am here on purpose.
I walk the path that was written for me.
I honor others on theirs.
My focus is sacred.
My peace is my protest.
My purpose is my power.

The time has come for a new kind of leader, one who’s not hypnotized by the hive but harmonized with the higher plan. We are not here to argue over whose truth is greater, but to become truth, embodied, compassionate, and creative.

Let the reformers reform.
Let the researchers research.
Let the broadcasters broadcast.

And let you be the living example of purpose in action. That’s how we change the world, not by out-shouting it, but by out-shining it.

So, stay on mission. Guard your focus. Keep your light steady.

You’re not escaping the world, you’re elevating it. And when enough of us do that, the hive mind won’t fracture anymore… It will finally wake up.

Quaternity of Purpose: Purpose, Message, Passion and Mission

Everyone comes to this planet with a divine assignment, a sacred thread woven into the very fabric of their being. It’s not just one thing. It’s a symphony of four powerful elements: your Life Purpose, your Message, your Passion, and your Mission. Together, these form what I call the Quaternity of Purpose.

When aligned, this quaternity becomes an unstoppable force, igniting your inner fire and amplifying your ability to make a meaningful difference in the world. This is your call to higher service, to live your best life, and to light the way for others.

Let’s walk through each part of the Quaternity and how you can begin to discover and activate each one.

  1. Life Purpose: Why You Are Here

Your Life Purpose is the reason you were born. It’s the core truth about who you are and what you’re meant to bring into the world. It’s not a job title or a task, it’s your sacred “why.”

How to Discover It:

    • Reflect on moments in your life when you felt truly alive and aligned.
    • Ask: “If I could fix just one thing in the world, what would it be?”
    • Pay attention to what others naturally seek you out for.
    • Use your pain as a clue, often, our greatest purpose is hidden inside our deepest wounds.

Activation Prompt:

“I was born to…” (fill in the blank)

Want to go deeper? The book How to Find Your Life Purpose, Message, Passion, and Mission offers powerful journaling and reflection exercises that will unearth your true reason for being.

  1. Message: What You’re Here to Say

Your Message is the truth you carry inside, the core idea, insight, or lesson that your life represents. It’s the lighthouse of your soul that shines for others who are lost in the dark.

How to Discover It:

    • Ask yourself, “If I had 2 minutes to speak to the world, what would I say?”
    • Reflect on what values or truths keep coming up in your conversations or writing.
    • What do you deeply believe that others often forget or overlook?

Activation Prompt:

“My message to the world is…” (complete this sentence)

Your message becomes a calling card for your soul. It will shine through your words, your work, and your presence. And in the book, you’ll find tools to refine and elevate your message so it connects deeply with others.

  1. Passion: What Lights You Up

Your Passion is the fuel. It’s what makes you come alive. It’s the energy that propels you into action and keeps you moving, even in the face of resistance.

How to Discover It:

    • What makes you lose track of time?
    • What could you do all day long, even if no one paid you?
    • What topics, causes, or experiences make your heart beat faster?
    • Look to your childhood dreams, what did you love before the world told you who to be?

Activation Prompt:

“I feel most passionate when I’m…” (what are you doing and how does it feel?)

Passion is not optional, it’s essential. Without it, purpose becomes a chore. The book includes exercises to reignite your passion if it’s gone dim.

  1. Mission: How You Deliver It to the World

Your Mission is the vehicle. It’s how you take your Purpose, Message, and Passion, and translate it into something that helps others. It’s what you do.

How to Discover It:

    • Ask: “Who am I called to serve?”
    • What needs exist in the world that your gifts can help solve?
    • What type of work, service, or expression feels like a natural extension of who you are?
    • What legacy would you like to leave behind?

Activation Prompt:

“My mission is to…” (do what, for whom, and why?)

Mission gives your life movement and structure. In the book, you’ll find frameworks for building your mission into a project, brand, business, ministry, or movement.

Align With Your Quaternity

This is your sacred alignment, your Quaternity of Purpose.

Run everything you’re planning through this 4-part alignment test:

Element Ask Yourself…
Purpose Does this serve my higher “why”?
Message Is my truth being clearly shared?
Passion Am I energized and excited about doing this work?
Mission Is this helping the people I’m called to serve?

If the answer is “yes” across the board, you’re on the right track.

Pursue Your Purpose

Finding your purpose can be scary business. As much as those of us in the discovering your special purpose business would like to reduce it to a particular formula, since everyone is different, the layers that need to be peeled away to uncover your purpose are different, the depth of the layers of programming vary so widely, it just cannot be reduced to a series of checkboxes and processing of a form. (Though many of us have tried.)

There are some similarities among those who are seeking to uncover their life’s calling, and you might be surprised to find out where some of the stones are where missions are buried beneath. Think about looking for the answers you’re looking for under these stones:

Fear

What are you afraid of? In many cases, the struggle you have with a particular fear holds the keys to your life’s purpose. It may not be the endgame, but certainly, those things that frighten you, are generally an indication that what you fear and the overcoming of it is either your calling or your purpose and mission lies on the other side of what you fear.

If you have a pervasive fear of failure challenge about a particular activity or endeavor, this is a priceless clue. If people have approached you about doing a particular thing, and you thought to yourself, “I could never do that,” because you felt as though you were unable or unqualified to do it, that’s a pretty good indication that this challenge is an invitation to lead you to your purpose.

Serve Those You Admire

There are those people whom you come into contact with or become aware of that inspire you. You resonate with their calling, you get excited when they step up and express their life’s purpose.

Seek to support or serve those whom you admire, by assisting them (you don’t even need their permission, you could support them via positive social media support, or leaving positive comments on their posts, referring others to investigate their work, etc.) you acquire their positive vibration.

The more you align yourself with the people who are actively engaged in doing their thing, you get exposed and used to the idea that you could/should be following your path to your destiny.

As you start to raise your own personal vibration in congruence with your purpose, you may notice that your desire to spend time with people who are not supportive of your pursuing your mission with passion are dragging you down. There are those who just seem to drain the life out of you when they are around, we call these people emotional vampires. It might be time to restructure your social matrix, surrounding yourself with more supportive, positive people.

Your Greatest Challenge

That insurmountable person, circumstance, or thing that you just cannot get beyond. The constant irritation that keeps popping up in your life, over and over again; that thing that makes you feel helpless and hopeless… That’s God holding you in a loving headlock, tapping on your head with a heartfelt noogie and a silly smile, saying, “Hello?”

How many times do you have to be presented with this particular challenge before you take the steps to overcome it? It is highly probable, this is your purpose, to overcome this challenge and possibly be the inspiration for others who struggle with the same issues(s) in life.

How to Find Your Life Purpose
How to Find Your Life Purpose

Is There More?

These things which frighten you, the people who inspire you, the challenges and obstacles that feel insurmountable, either are your special purpose or point the way to your purpose, so don’t be intimidated about looking at what’s next?

Also keep in mind that you may have more than one special purpose, if you are a very special person with an impressive destiny.

If your impassionate mission is multi-faceted, the caveat is to not spread yourself too thin, or you may have to prevent yourself from being drawn away from your own purpose in the support of someone else’s mission.

The process of discovery consists of asking questions and taking steps, one at a time, then asking yourself a “Yes” or “No” question. “Am I on the right track?”

“Do I feel like I’m headed in the right direction?”

If the answer is, “No,” re-evaluate and try something different. If it’s “Yes,” keep going.

Purpose Message Passion Mission (PMPM)

Today, your Purpose Message Passion Mission (PMPM) is excited because you’re becoming aware of its existence.

Your PMPM is your reason for being here. No one knows it better than you, even though you may have covered it up (through no fault of your own, because our society is resistant to the idea of you having PMPM, and embracing it, is against everything that society stands for), it lays there dormant waiting for the day that you awaken to the possibility of it being there.

Today is the day you are awakening, even if only for the briefest moment of clarity, in this moment, you have knowingness that there is something more in this life. You’re contemplating the living of a life with meaning, a better life, possibly your best life, and thinking that you might be able to offer a contribution, maybe leave a legacy, and make the world a better place.

P – Purpose

Your purpose is the reason you came to this planet for the benefit of others, your family, the community, or the world at large. It is the culmination and expression of your gifts, talents and abilities which contribute to a better world. Your purpose will most likely include (but not be limited to) your message, your passion and your mission.

M – Message

Your message is a specific expression of words or thought which will cause others to think about a particular thing in a different, or from a more expansive, point of view, that could result in a paradigm shift, potentially affecting consciousness locally or worldwide. Your message may appear to be similar to someone else’s message but YOUR message will be so much more unique because it will be a reflection of you, the live you have lived and your voice which will be specifically attenuated to a particular audience (of one or more). I also refer to your message as your song, and encourage you to sing it.

P – Passion

No one knows more about your passion than you. It’s that activity that submerses you in The Zone, an alternate reality in time and space where you are thoroughly enveloped by what you love. When you are actively engaged in something that you are passionate about, everything else seems to fade away, as if nothing else matters, and even time seems to disappear as you do that thing which you are so passionate about. Passion is the fuel that powers your innate gifts, skills and abilities to degrees of empowered, successful performance, which is easily identifiable by others when you are demonstrating it. You might not even notice it, because it seems so natural, and you feel so good when you are engaging your passion.

M – Mission

Your mission is your particular task, or series of tasks to be performed throughout, or as the result of living, your life, here on planet earth. All of this is part of your life’s blueprint, and it is a pre-programmed part of your innermost being that has been with you since (or long before) the day you were born.

Are Your Ready for Your
Purpose Message Passion Mission (PMPM)?

Sometimes you are able to make it through life with your sense of purpose, message, passion and mission intact, but in most cases, you will have all but forgotten any of this by the time you are seven years old.

In fact, when I am working with a client, who is in search of their PMPM, most of the time all it takes is recalling the early years of their life, before they were seven years old. If they are able to do this, and remember what excited them, how they felt when they were there, in the moment of exhilaration of being aware of their PMPM, because in those early years, prior to being fully programmed (or having your PMPM psychologically removed or beat out of you) you knew who you were and what you were here for.

You are never more aware of your PMPM than at birth, but of course trying to keep it all together, make sense of it, or have the ability to express it is impossible. You have to wait until your body and your mind catch up, and as soon as you’ve gasped your first breath of air, the programming (or deprogramming) begins.

How to Find Your Life Purpose
How to Find Your Life Purpose

Regardless of what it takes, or how you do it, once you are able to identify and tune-in to your PMPM, then it’s up to you, whether you will fully engage in it, or not. You can choose not to, it’s what society has programmed you for, and what it expects from you.

On the other hand, that greater part of you, (call it whatever you want) God, the universe, your higher self, nature, or whatever, has never forgotten your PMPM and is hoping that you go for it.

I refer to it as God, as this is a safe and comfortable concept to me, and God is watching you so intently at this moment. God sees your heart, your blueprint, all your known and yet-to-be-revealed gifts, skills, special abilities and the treasure hidden within you waiting to be released…

I’m waiting; the whole world is waiting, to see if you’ve got the courage to do this thing.

Are you ready?

How to Find Your Purpose

You’re awakening to the idea that there must be more to this life, and there is. The life you’ve been living up ‘til now may be a constant denial of the idea that your life has meaning and purpose. You came to this planet with a unique set of skills, special abilities and a song to sing (message to share) with others. It might be time to find out how to find your purpose.

It’s no wonder your life lacks a sense of meaning, if you’re not embracing the real you. And you’re not alone. We’re all pretty much in the same boat. We’ve all been programmed to be sheep, easily herded in a society desperately trying to control us all by creating factions of conformity. It is much easier to manage groups of like-minded people than it is to try to influence 7 billion people. So, our individuality is stifled as we are programmed by our parents to accept the mediocrity of conformity, just as their parents and the parents before them did, as far back as anyone can remember and/or document.

More and more every day a growing number of us are awakening from our everyday trance of life to the idea that we might have a purpose and we do, we all do. So, it’s no surprise if one day you ask, What is my life’s purpose?

How do I find my life’s purpose?

While I spend a great deal of time working with clients to find and embrace their calling or purpose, what most people fail to realize it that their life leaves clues as to their purpose sprinkled everywhere. You can find your life’s calling by following your passion’s trail of crumbs leading the way to your purpose.

Your purpose glistens beneath the surface of your daily activities and can be found shining through as you perform your functions at work and likely even more passionately in your recreational activities.

There are some good methods you could employ to get a sense of your life’s purpose. Start by taking note of those activities where you shine, have exemplary performance that is noticed by coworkers or onlookers. What turns you on? What are the activities that bring you joy, provide a sense of satisfaction, contentment, relaxation or peace?

Make a list of the things you do, that when you do them, make you feel good.

If you’re still feeling uncertain about your life’s purpose, here are some more ideas… jot down your results.

What activities cause time to disappear when you’re engaging in them?

What activities give you a sense of accomplishment (or would if you did them)?

What people or ideas or things inspire or move you (may even tempt a tear)?

What kind of topics do people ask you for advice about?

What comes naturally to you? (Special abilities, skills and/or gifts)

What is the most important thing in life to you?

What challenges in life have you encountered and successfully overcome?

What are your most tightly regarded beliefs?

If you could teach a class about anything, what might interest you?

If you could deliver one brief message to the world, what would it be?

Is there anything in life you feel you could not live without?

Imagine you on your death bed; is there anything you might have regretted not doing?

How to Find Your Life Purpose
How to Find Your Life Purpose

With your list of results in hand (which you could sort in order of importance, rated on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being the least amount of satisfaction and 10 the most), ask yourself this question:

Considering my skills, talents, abilities, passions and things that bring me joy, how could I best serve my self, family, friends, community or the world at large in a way that would make me feel as though I have made an impact, served or done my part for the greater good?

The answer to this question is your mission.

Once you start engaging in fulfilling your life’s mission, nothing makes you feel better or gives you a better feeling of accomplishment. This is how you know that you know you are purposefully on track to living a better life, your best life and make the world a better place.

What is my life’s purpose?

Wandering through life you may ask yourself, “What is my life’s purpose?”

what-is-my-lifes-purpose

Depending upon the life that you’ve lived up to this moment, the answer may – or may not – be obvious. Fortunately for me, I have lived a life in harmony with my life’s purpose, which I have been aware of from an early age.

Others have lived a life unempowered by their sense of purpose, instead being coached by parents, family and friends to focus their efforts on a worthwhile career so they could have a reasonable chance of being able to survive in this rough and tumble world.

It’s not uncommon for someone to be able to remember what their purpose was early in life, only to have it regarded as fanciful folly, as they were urged to spend their time thinking more responsibly with feet placed firmly on the ground.

As you grow in age and responsibility, your sense of purpose slowly fades away…

Until the day comes when you realize that all the things you fought for, the money, the cars, the jobs, the relationships, all the things that you believed in and thought would bring you a sense of belonging and purpose, leave you feeling little fulfillment, as you discover happiness remains elusive.

Still, as you look back through your life up to this point, you’re likely to find clues and have endured a precise succession of experiences designed to reintegrate you with your purpose. In this case, you can see a higher power gently nudging and preparing you for this moment.

While you have not originally focused on your life’s purpose, your purpose has never left you behind and has attracted challenges and circumstances to align you with your purpose, having trained you for this unbeknownst to you.

Ever wonder why you started asking the question, “What is my life’s purpose?” now?

This is how the higher power works. It is no coincidence that you have come to this place at this time, as these moments have been divinely conceived and executed. You have trained and you are ready to fully engage in your life’s purpose.

How to Find Your Life Purpose
How to Find Your Life Purpose

As you begin to reorganize your life to accommodate answering the call and accepting your life’s charge, you begin to feel a growing sense of meaning which has eluded you until this time and place.

You have a knowingness that you are doing something meaningful with your life and as you take responsibility for singing your song, that song that is uniquely attuned to your mission and message, gratitude and joy begins to well up inside.

Your heart fills with love which spills out to the lives of those who are close to you and fuels your desire to contribute to the greater good and the community at large.

You discover the time has come to Live a Better Life, Your Best Life and Make the World a Better Place.

It’s never to late to start aligning yourself with your purpose, though it does take courage to do so, regardless of what the Nay sayers may have to say about it.

Why would people who appear to care about you not want you to pursue your life’s purpose?

The answer is this:

They, too, have neglected their life purpose. If they could allow themselves to concede that you – or anyone, for that matter – could possibly have a higher purpose in life.

Why?

Because that would mean that they, too, would have a higher purpose… and their conscious mind and their life could not accommodate such a thought (at this time).

It’s okay, you can do this without their approval.

Thank them for their support and have the courage to do that thing you were called to do.

Perception + Purpose = Prosperity

A simple equation: Perception + Purpose = Prosperity.

At the risk of being over-simplified (though I like to reduce everything to its simplest form) the idea of taking a complicated, broad concept, like the law of attraction and to reduce it down to a basic three-step formula, was an idea that piqued my interest.

In my work as a consultant and coach, I often find myself dealing with these three components: perception, purpose and prosperity and an quite impressed as I realize how connected they always appear to be, so reducing them to this simple formula, seemed a natural.

perception purpose prosperity empower attraction lightning strikes awakening

Perception

This is where one must start. This is what separates my clients from the clients of other coaches or consultants. The people that I work with already have had a major shift in their perception (how one sees the world or one’s self in the world) already, or they have reached a point in their life’s journey where they are beginning the process of changing their perception of life and their pursuit of happiness and fulfillment on planet earth.

As your perceptions begins to shift you will be able to see things as they really are in the world and beyond, realizing that everything is energy… and that you – the real empowered you – can access all energies as your outdated programming begins to dissolve and fade away, you see the things you previously believed about your world, yourself and your limitations were not true.

Self perception

Changing how you see yourself and how you are related to and interact with the rest of the world is an important step in the process. When it occurs to you (and this occurrence of consciousness is on a rapid incline) that you are not just a worker bee, but a divine being who is beginning to lack congruency with the way society and the media would like you to perceive yourself, your awakening has sparked.

As your awareness grows and permeates your being and thought processes, you realize that there is more to this life and you know that you were meant for something more… and so much more than you could have previously even imagined is waiting for you on the other side of this equation.

There is no guidebook and there are no rules in changing your perception, as everyone’s perspective in individually unique. What is important is that you start to question social mores and blaze your own trail with one caveat: Be discrete about your shift in perception. Not everyone will be comfortable with the change that is taking place within you, so try to keep it to yourself. This is a private affair.

Maybe seek a coach, or therapist versed in this target area to encourage your personal growth and path to enlightenment, otherwise do not encourage others to jump on board, because where you are going – though it is the next step in our evolution – is not encouraged by the powers that be, nor the society they control.

How to Find Your Life Purpose
How to Find Your Life Purpose

Purpose

The next step (or this could have been the first step, there are no hard and fast rules, here) is to find your sense of purpose. I believe every person that comes to this planet has a specific purpose and/or mission – a reason for being – that left squelched leaves one having a sense of dissatisfaction, or a feeling of emptiness. My clients either already have a strong sense of what their purpose in life is, or they are just coming to realize that it’s time to match their life, including not only what they do but how they live, is precisely aligned with their purpose.

Again, even though we all come here with a purpose, the knowledge of it is suppressed by elitists and outside forces in an effort to keep us from evolving (for our own good?).

Once the spark of perception lights the fire of purpose, the resulting blaze (you determine the quantity and pace to stoke the fire – there is no right way [or wrong way] to do this. You go at the pace that is just right for you – fuels barn-burning prosperity.

Brace yourself…

Prosperity

Call it prosperity, abundance, dream catching, being rich and able to bless others and the world with the fruits of your faithfulness, whatever you call it, it has always been here for you, waiting for you.

Once you change your perspective, you can live your life on purpose and enjoy all this life has to offer you – not only from a financial perspective, but also – in love, happiness, good health, quality of life and increased longevity.

Be aware that the P+P=P process is ongoing, constant and never ending. Once you’ve engaged in the process, you will never have a desire to live a life that does not empower you to live out your highest and best. There is virtually no limit to the rewards of allowing yourself to evolve and continue to grow.

I’ve Got a Special Purpose!

Who can forget Steve Martin’s enthusiastic proclamation of his, special purpose?

This scene is a comical introduction to one of the most meaningful components of one’s life.

Steve Martin Special Purpose Bernadette Peters The JerkIt’s as if to ask, “What is the point of my life if it has no meaningif I never

  • accomplished anything
  • left the world in a little better condition that when I arrived
  • shouted my individual message from the mountaintops
  • exercised by ability to carry out my special purpose?”

It’s not enough to get up every morning, get dressed, check the email, get into the car, drive to work, slave away at your job, to come home, give the money to others (maybe keep a little for yourself), watch a little TV or play some games, just to go to bed and start the cycle again the next day, and the day after that…

In some cases when I meet a new client, he or she may not know what their mission in life is; most of the time by the time I meet up with someone, they are already keenly aware of what their special purpose is and are already seeking out opportunities to get their message out, to make their mark, to leave something of importance behind when they leave this life as we know it.

One of the most impressive metamorphoses I ever have the privilege to witness is when someone suddenly discovers that there is something more to this life! There is little that thrills me more. (No, not because they’ve become a potential client, LOL)

Most of my life I’ve been blessed to be in the presence of individuals experiencing epiphany massively life-changing moments in their lives.

It’s one thing to attract individuals well on their way, it is entirely another when someone, who was previously unaware their life could have any meaning or purpose suddenly comes to life with an unparalleled enthusiasm to set the world ablaze with their special purpose.

How Can We Have a Sense of No Purpose?

If each of us comes to this planet with a unique set of skills, personal message and/or special purpose to share with the world, how can we possibly not know that we have such a destiny and it is waiting to be awakened from within?

There are so many speculative hypotheses concerning the “why” of our ability to sink into a complacent vibration of simply surviving and becoming content with just being a cog in the machine. They cover a massive variety of possibilities, everything from, “the devil made me do it” (or not) and conspiracies suggesting tampering with the water supply and chemtrails.

I have concluded that we are more the result of a well conceived and executed social structure that makes us feel a certain level of comfort and security by accepting our lot in life as being of little significance. Although some opportunities are available for those who seek a little more significance by investing in education or to be lucky enough to be born into a prominent and successful family.

Even so, there is a massive awakening taking place and every minute of every day someone else wakes from the silent slumber to discover the idea that there is something more…

There is something more

And that something is

YOU

Exercising your special purpose.

4 Steps to Specialize On Purpose

Your highest and best specialize on purpose determine define specialize

When you come to this planet with a specific purpose or calling, it is important to:

  1. Determine your purpose, calling and/or message

In my working with individuals, most of them feel a strong disconnect with their higher purpose, calling and/or message to share with the community at large. When you arrive on planet earth, you are keenly aware of your special attributes/purpose, but by the time you’ve reached the age of seven, you’ve been re-programmed to make you a more logical person, less likely to embrace the thought of fanciful ideals. You are taught to believe that to be a more productive participant in our society you must dumb yourself down (though we refer to it as smartening up) and accept that your school grades and playing well with others will secure you a good enough job to get by.

There are many methods that I use to help someone re-discover their purpose. In my practice, the most effective is thinking back to your earliest recollection of what someone wanted to do or be, then weighing that against what types of people and circumstances have been attracted to you throughout your life. In many cases, the results of this collection of data will help you remember your mission.

  1. Define by reducing to qualifying statements

Create a list of statements that help you to define your purpose, mission and/or message in this life. This can be as long a list as you like. I have a long list and a short list of statements that qualify who I am, like:

  1. I have a desire to help make the world a better place
  2. I help others achieve their highest and best
  3. I work with people who are upwardly mobile (on the upswing)
  4. I work with people who take responsibility and action
  5. I allow others to compensate me for my efforts
  6. Love is the most important thing

This short list of six items (it’s actually five items with a Love trump card) helps me to quickly pre-qualify the people that I work with.

Everyone’s calling and short-list is different. You have to determine what works best for you. Once you have your list, it will help you…

  1. Determine your audience

Who are the people whom you were sent here to interface with the most? You are only one person, you are limited to time and space, so defining your audience will help you keep on-track.

This could also be your target market. Your life’s data collection will help you determine who to keep an eye out for so that you can quickly identify them. I start with reducing my clientele into a single individual representation of the group.

What’s he look like? How old is he? What does he like to do in his free-time? What is his relationship status? Etc… Then I give him a name, like Tom. Though Tom can take many forms, knowing who he is will help me quickly identify him, maximizing my time and space.

  1. Commit to, “specialize on purpose”

Specializing on purpose refers to staying true to your cause. Frances Hesselbein tells Jerry Porras, there is “a powerful synergy when you combine service to others with passion for your own mission, your own work.”

Society has tried to keep you from exercising your gifts, abilities and delivering your message. Now that you are back on track for the greater good, other forces may try to dissuade you from staying in resonance with your truer self or accomplishing your mission.

Using your list can help you to laser-focus on your mission and the people that you were meant to serve, helping you to

a. Eliminate distractions

Inevitably you will be interrupted by people, circumstances, projects and ideas that will break your concentration and commitment to achieve your highest and best in the most efficient manner.

b. Increase effectiveness

Maximize your efforts by being able to quickly determine, “This is a distraction,” or, “This is not my ministry,” (my favorite). Which allows me to be able to defer the distraction to someone whose life’s calling is to specialize in that area of expertise.
