Hospital Inside You

While you have been programmed to seek health care from outside yourself there exists hidden within yourself the most powerful health maintenance and healing hospital inside you.

In the sense of physiological health, there is the work that is executed on the body from external sources, such as topical applications, substances which are ingested including natural and pharmacological, and forces such as exercise in its many forms.

There is an underground holistic approach to health care which is gaining momentum, making its way into mainstream medical practice as its effects on the health of the human body are staggering.

Just as these methods affect the body’s ability to heal, cope, and sustain life here on planet Earth, there are many hospitals and health centers hidden inside your body which are proving to be far more effective in promoting physical health, wellness, increased quality of life, and longevity.

There are many ways to tap into these inner health and healing resources, such as Reiki, meditation, neurological feedback methodologies, relaxation, deep breathing exercises, subliminal programming, aromatherapy, and many other ways to center yourself and access these powerful hidden treasures.

Your body is an amazing machine, fully equipped for healthy perseverance and healing itself with the unlimited power of love and life.

In order for your body to conduct all this natural innate work, it must have the raw materials it needs to apply to whatever ails you.

Deep mind/spirit states help to empower your inner hospital to conduct its work throughout your body, and just like the Emergency Department at your hospital on the street has a Charge Nurse, so does the hospital inside you.

God, your higher power, is your inner Charge Nurse and knows you and your body more intimately than any physician on Earth. This is the ultimate source of healing which can diagnose and treat any disease, even incurable or life-threatening diseases as they are known to man or the medical community.

Nothing is impossible with the hospital inside you.

Even though your internal health center does much of the work of keeping you healthy when you are unaware of it’s doing so, it’s up to you to keep the body working with your inner hospital in good communication and working order.

You can consciously take an active part in your healthcare management by maintaining a positive connection between you, your outer world, and your healthcare center within for optimum health, wellness, youth maintenance, and longevity.

There are those well-versed in the practice of meditation who are able to regulate all of their body functions without third-party intervention. According to the experts, this mindful body regulation is the key to the greatest health potential of the human body, enabling it to fully heal and maintain itself, while increasing human potential and evolution.

Anyone of us (all of us come equipped to do so) can take full charge of our own body’s maintenance, self-healing, and health care.

If you are overwhelmed with stress, it will be difficult for you to maintain a strong bond between your external life and your internal health care system. The first order of business for you, if you are overcome by stress, is to find ways to minimize the stress and/or its effects on you, so that you have the bandwidth available to connect to your inner healing center.

Then you can utilize meditation or other “spiritual” practices to center yourself and take control of your life, as is your divine birthright.

As you embark upon this journey of self-awareness, health maintenance, and healing, you will find yourself more aware of your position in life, your community, and the world at large. You will be able to find more relaxation and peace in maintaining a positive mind/body/spirit balance in life.

You will be less likely to be stressed out often, as you learn to relax your mind, allow “what is” to simply be, and let your inner health care system do the heavy lifting in raising your expectations for good health and living a better high-quality lifestyle that comes from peace of mind that passes all understanding.

Of course, you have other natural options that can assist you in healing your inner wounds. This includes doing the deep work of healing your inner self. When the hospital inside you is empowered, it can assist you with curing your mind and your body without having any negative side effects at all.

Having no negative side effects from your health maintenance and your self-healing managed by the hospital inside you is of enormous benefit. Unlike prescription medications which come with all types of negative side effects, when God is your primary healing physician, there are no harmful side effects. None.

While there may be side effects, they are healthful, positive, necessary, and life-charging as being a part of your ultimate healing and health maintenance strategies.

When you feel yourself reacting to circumstances or situations negatively, feeling increased levels of stress, or feel like you’re leaning toward blaming others for things not going the way you might like, this is the emotional frequency which is the breeding ground for unwellness and/or disease.

Whenever you’re feeling off-balance seek out methods to center you with yourself holistically. You can meditate, pray, practice Reiki, use biofeedback, self-hypnosis, aromatherapy, wiggle your toes in beach sand, treat yourself to a massage, or spa treatment, whatever works for you.

In essence, find ways to consciously break away from the things of this world and find peaceful methods of centering yourself, increasing the connection between you and your higher self, which works best for you.

Baby Boomers Keys to Longevity

So, what are the Baby Boomers’ keys to longevity?

The aging Americans who have lived throughout the most exciting and culturally advanced times in all of history are not accepting society’s or Mother Nature’s definition of aging, and they are living healthier, happier, longer lives than any other segment of the population.

Growing up in the fifties and sixties imbued this segment of the population with the ability to embrace out of the box thinking, reject social programming, and seek individual expression more than ever before, or since.

Of course, there has been spillover into other generations, as their thought patterns permeate the social programming of the powers that be, infect and permeate other segments of American culture, spanning all segments of the populace.

From this expanded level of consciousness, the Boomers are able to see and understand key elements of longevity, increasing human performance, quality of life, love, and joy.

For the most part, the Boomers have settled into American socialized lifestyles but a growing number of them have found or are searching for something more, finding it and living their best lives, living longer, higher quality lives, with more peace, harmony, and love than their peers.

1. Eating habits
2. Nutritional attention
3. An open heart
4. Respect for others
5. Social interaction
6. Individuality, and…

You find certain qualities which they share in common, they eat better, pay attention to their nutritional intake of vitamins and minerals, the building blocks of life. They have an openness to love and compassion, respect others, are part of a social network, embrace and celebrate their individuality.

7. Spirituality

Then there is one more trait they all have in common. For those leading the most high-quality lifestyles for the longest period of time, they all have a method to express themselves spiritually, whether part of an organized religion or in their own individualized spiritual journeys.

These are the people who when tested for their biological age test at 10, 20, 30, and up to 40 years younger than their peers, and they look that much younger, too.

The Boomers who have discovered and exercise their own purpose, message, passion, and mission in life have a higher sense of meaning in life and reason to live a better life, their best lives, and make the world a better place.

Their efforts to expand their consciousness, experiencing all the best things in life, and giving back to others, their communities and the world at large pays exponential benefits of the fountain of youth, which is not some far off sacred secret.

It is within each and every one of us, even if we’re unable to grasp the idea at first blush.

The process, though it is simple, is not easy, and it begins with you. In fact, it is all about you and nothing else but you.

Only you can decide when it’s time to start your journey within and which path(s) you will take along your journey. No one can tell you what is the right way for you, only you can do that.

Your journey, while it may similar in some ways to others, yours will be highly unique and your own. You will erase years from your life, regaining a youthful exuberance and appearance as you roll on and turn back the hands of time, giving you a new lease on life.

Say goodbye to the physiological maladies and issues associated with aging and even which may have come from a life lived less appropriate than you may have if you had the advantage of hindsight’s 20/20 vision.

Yet, even if you’ve lived a life of hedonistic excess, the effects of that lifestyle can be reversed and/or erased at any time. It happens every day. Someone awakens and sees that life is not all that it’s cracked up to be.

Today, you could decide to live a new life, a better life, your best life, and make the world a better place, no matter who you are, what life you may have lived in the past, or how old you might live.

Suppressed Emotions Kill

When you bottle up your emotions, push them down, cover them up, and insist on just going on through life ignoring your feelings and living a life of emotional denial, you are committing murder. You are committing suicide because suppressed emotions kill you.

It’s a socially acceptable manner of suicide, not as blatant or open as hanging yourself, taking a bottle of pills, or as dramatic as throwing yourself off a bridge or blowing your brains out, but your suppressed emotions are killing you.

In his groundbreaking work, Bernie Siegel in Love, Medicine and Miracles: Lessons Learned about Self-Healing from a Surgeon’s Experience with Exceptional Patients, implicitly defines the number one cause of disease and premature death from medical maladies is pent-up emotions.

If caught early enough to reverse the effects of a lifetime of suppressed emotions, the patient who finds healthy ways to express himself or herself, live a better life, and find happiness, become the most exceptional patients, experiencing full reversal or remission of their condition and fatal prognosis.

Most people on Mother Nature’s death row have put themselves there by not wanting to rock the boat, express their feelings, or being proactive in looking after themselves. They accept their lot in life as being in service to others, selflessly, without any regard for looking after themselves.

If you don’t look after yourself, who will?

I pray you are ready to receive this. If you are not, there is no judgment here. After all, we’re all doing the best we can with what we have. If your heart and mind are open, consider this:

If you are living a life with health challenges, consider who you are putting first in your life. If you are not putting your own health, wellness, and happiness first, and not expressing all the emotions you keep hidden away, the things that make you sad, angry, hurt, disrespected, or unworthy, your illness(es) is of your own making.

\This includes all disease (which could be redefined as “dis-ease”). If you’re not happy, your body is not happy, and your immune system disregards your body just as much as you do. If you will not stand up and fight for you, neither will your body, and you will fall victim to disease and premature death. But you will die a hero.

Friends, family, and society will put you on a pedestal after you’ve died and tell stories about how you selflessly served others, even as your own body was suffering in decay. (Even though you may have silently wished for death to come knocking, just so you could get some peace.)

Or, you could become an exceptional patient. You could find the keys to the life you’ve always wanted and deserved, even though you may have denied yourself access to it in the past. You could uncover your unique, purpose, message, passion, and/or mission and start living a better life, your best life, and make the world a better place.

You can enjoy all the good things this life has been holding for you, just waiting for you to reach out for it, including all the love and happiness you’ve ever dreamed of.

But don’t believe me. Don’t believe Bernie Siegel, or anyone else. If you decide to change your life, while there is still time, and live the life that is your birthright, only you can do this thing. Only you can make the transformation from sickness to massively thriving by choosing to become an exceptional patient.

Every day, someone who stood at death’s door awakens and starts to live life with openness, honesty, self-love with ebullient vitality and energy, staving off any self-imposed death sentence, achieving their highest and best.

Let it be you.

You can live a better life, your best life, and make the world a better place.

Today, let it be you.

DIY Life Threatening Disease Elimination

Having recently witnessed yet another elimination of a life-threatening disease, I am reminded of how incredible our bodies and the planet which surrounds us like a warm blanket on a winter’s day are. When they are allowed to work at their highest potential in concert for the greater good, nothing can thwart their natural and grandiose power with a grace and elegance that only leaves me in shock and awe at the perfect design of it all.

How magnificent our bodies are in their natural ability to repair, rejuvenate, regenerate and defeat any disease or malady, if empowered to operate at full capacity, and if you need a little help from outside yourself to support the process, we are surrounded by natural substances that make up Mother Nature’s natural pharmacy, available to us 24/7.

While more and more doctors are awakening and realizing that there is more to healing than making the big bucks signing people up for expensive surgeries and prescribing Big Pharma’s patented medicine, people are taking responsibility for their own health and self-healing using alternative medicine and natural remedies.

Is it easy? No.

First, let’s take a look at “disease.”

A specific disease is not anything that will harm you. The disease is simply a way to categorize a set of symptoms and commonalities within the body into a group that is standardized enough that doctors can share information with each other quickly, without having to share all the individual specifics about a patient’s condition.

When you are given the diagnosis of a disease by name, it is generally understood that you are having “these kinds of symptoms” in “these areas of the body.” Once a diagnosis has been made, the doctor will go about the work of investigating what has worked for other doctors who have been diagnosed with the same disease and hope that they can help you in the same way.

All are very logical, systematic, and efficient when things work out the way you’d like them to. Normally, successful treatment is assumed when the patient is experiencing fewer symptoms of the disease.

Often the symptoms exist from something not right inside the body, and the something not right could be pathogens, bacteria, viruses, or parasites that are attacking the body from the inside out. When this is the case, a universal antibiotic, like chlorine dioxide might be effective in killing off the pathogens that are causing this particular set of symptoms.

Your body, as incredible as its potential to heal itself, has been reprogrammed since birth to be incapable of healing itself, making it dependent on the chemical incarnations of natural elements, the corporations, and the staff which administer them.

So, if you’re thinking about taking personal responsibility for your own health, wellness, and defeating of disease, even including the most horrible life-threatening challenges, you will need to take the proactive approach of building your body’s natural ability to heal itself. If your body has its natural ability to self-heal restored, it can do the work it was designed to do, on its own; what an amazing design all of this is.

And it happens all around us every day. I have been fortunate enough to know some of the people who have taken a holistic approach to healthcare defeating their own life-threatening diseases. They have emerged on the other side of their death sentence, with outstanding health, enhanced quality of life, and longevity.

Yesterday, another joins the ranks of the many who have looked death in the eye and put the Grim Reaper on notice, “Mother Nature and I are gonna kick your ass!” and they do.

Befuddled doctors all say the same thing, “It must have been a misdiagnosis,” blaming botched tests, or alternatively, “a miracle.” (84% of Americans believe in miracles.) Even the medical community admidst that for no known reason, cancer patients go into spontaneous regression for no reason whatsoever (accounting for 1 in 80,000 cancer patients).

Although, even among this exclusive club of the medical community, there are a growing number of them who are awakening and taking note of the magnificence of the self-healing human body, as well as the natural elements which surround us, as if they were gifts of God, all provided in perfect harmony to support the melody of our lives.

Those who have healed themselves of catastrophic maladies know better. Their new lease on life was not a misdiagnosis, miracle, or accident of any kind. They healed themselves by exiting the flow of the mob and cleared a path through nature to healing and wellness, which few others dare to consider.

I too have allowed my body to deteriorate and become dependent on the chemistry which I’ve been force-fed since birth. Still, now, I am joining the burgeoning ranks of the natural nutcases who are living life in a different way, a better way, embracing the magnificence and power of a brilliantly conceived and engineered closed system, where God has provided everything we need to achieve our highest and best, live a better life, our best lives, and make the world an even better place.

Maybe even you might be interested in the concept that you, too, could heal yourself.

Live Healthy Exercise and Eat

You’ve come to that point in your life where you know things have got to change for you to start living the life you want to live. You’re starting to change your thought processes, you’re getting more in tune with your heart and life’s purpose. This new sense of meaning creates an empowered perspective as you continue to find ways to optimize your human experience while you are here in the third dimension on planet earth.

As you make the necessary adjustments in your life, you’re living a better life and every change you make lights the way for new changes to allow as you evolve into the new, more advanced and enlightened version of yourself. Your attention is drawn to your reflection in the mirror.

While you’re feeling better than ever and your countenance has a certain glow about it, you’re thinking you’ve been given charge of your body, this earthly vessel referred to as the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19) and you begin to think, “I could do better,” as you contemplate a healthier approach to honoring your earth suit.

If you’re like me (the author of Don’t Diet or Exercise) you may be somewhat resistant to the idea of exercising and eating right. While the New Year looms only days away, you consider looking for ways to enhance your fitness as your challenge of the year.

Looking over the vast array of a hugely monetary-infused industry, everyone has a different spin on what it takes to live healthy.

As my gift to you, I will demystify the healthy living challenge by reducing it to its simplest and most brief process, as follows:

Exercise

Unfortunately, this is where you have to start, but it doesn’t have to be as brutal as it might sound if you’re contemplating exercise for the first time.

Question: What can you expect from adding a little exercise to your weekly regimen? Answer: Increased energy, cognitive abilities, fat-burning weight loss and longevity, just to name a few.

In an effort to get right down to it, all you really have to do to optimize your health is to exercise and eat right. In term of exercise all you need is 20 to 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise and 20 to 25 minutes of resistance training four times per week.

Eat

As far as the diet portion of your optimal health program for the next year, all you need to remember is this:

  • Drink at least eight 8-oz. glasses of water during the day
  • Eat numerous tiny meals (optimally four) and a couple of small snacks during the day
  • Limit your fat ingestion to no more than what’s essential for sufficient flavor

Balance your meals by including

  • palm-sized portions of proteins
  • fist-sized portions of complex carbohydrates
  • fist-sized portions of vegetables and fruits

Don’t Overdo It

No need to jump in over your head, just start with baby steps at the shallow end and work your way more and more into achieving your exercise and eating goals. Just start small and increase a little each week, or month, instead of overwhelming yourself all at once.

What to expect

Weeks 1-8: Feeling better and having more energy
Month 2-6: Losing inches and becoming leaner. Clothes fit better as you gain muscle and lose fat.
After 6 months: Losing weight more rapidly, looking and feeling better than ever.

Music and Your Health

You know the effects music has on your emotional state. A particular song can immediately take you back in time, back to a time when life was easier, or worse, depending on the song. Music is a powerful mood enhancer. It has the power to make you happy, sad, moody, depressed, all in a moment.

So the question is,
What kind of music do you listen to?

music-and-your-health-how-music-affects-your-body

Did you know the music you listen to not only affects your mental status but also your physical status?

Music is a powerful medium sending waves of energy that not only tantalizes the ears and brain but permeates every cell of the human body. In this regard, music can be used as a potent therapeutic modality, as effective as any drug.

As we know, drugs can soothe, potentially heal or breakdown individual physiological systems. They can enhance ones biological state or cause the end of life altogether.

If you are experiencing a sense of not being well, depressed, lethargic, experiencing physiological pain or bio mechanical deterioration, you might consider looking at the kind of music you are in the habit of listening to.

Be aware that changing the type or style of music you are listening to may not be easy as your body may have a connection to the music which maintains its level of deterioration so much that your physiology is actually dependent on it for survival. It is not unlike being addicted to any other type of powerful drug.

Don’t be surprised to find that you are addicted to particular songs or music, and if you’re contemplating a change, it can be as uncomfortable (or even painful) to embrace a new, more healthy, supportive and healing style of music that can actually create improved and sustained health, wellness and happiness.

Changing the music that you listen to temporarily can have a healing effect on both the mind and body, but just as in other treatment models, once you return to our old habits, eating, lack of exercise, improper nourishment or revert to use of certain drugs, the mind and body begin to their previous state of deterioration.

It’s the old GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out) conundrum. You, all your systems including your body, your mind and that part of you which is outside of your comprehension, often referred to as spirit or soul, everything combined can only reflect that which you put into it for nourishment.

If you are feeding yourself with continual helpings of depressing media, it is no surprise that depression begins to permeate your mind sending signals of degeneration throughout the cells of your body, causing inner physiological structures to breakdown or fail.

The same can be said for other states of mind that are experienced by heavy doses of particular types and styles of music.

And this phenomenon is not only limited to music, as it applies to the other media we expose ourselves to, also. The books and periodicals we read, the television programming and movies that we watch, etc…

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not passing judgment or expecting to say that anything is better for you than any other thing. This is entirely up to you, it is an individual consideration. I am not condemning any type or style of media, only suggesting that you might consider pondering the idea that the media to which you expose yourself to may be reflected by your psychological and physiological state of being, particularly if you are not feeling well.

There is an awakening taking place among people who are starting to understand how our bodies reflect what we put in them. We are taking note of the types of foods that we eat, becoming more particular about ingredients and developing a preference for non-GMO-type food substances. We are developing a knowingness that certain foods are not good for us and other more natural nutrients and supplements are good for us and enhance our state of being.

hot-dog-manI would not berate someone for eating a hot dog. In fact, I would defend your right to eat a hot dog, or live on nothing more than hot dogs, if you like.

Yes, I was in line behind the hot-dog-man at the supermarket with a basket full of 56 packs of hot dogs that were on sale. When the cashier asked if he was having a big barbeque party, he went on to discuss how it’s all that he eats for breakfast, lunch, dinner and for snacks. While it did not seem appealing to me, he was exercising his choice. Bravo (Ugh).

I believe it will not be long, and we – as a global community – will begin to develop a particular taste for a new genre of music that will enhance our state of being, promoting a state of wellbeing, happiness, good health and longevity.

Or not.
What are your thoughts?

Self Healing and Health Care

I have the privilege to work with people who are both patients and practitioners of alternative treatment therapies. It never ceases to amaze me that people can heal themselves of all types of ailment, from sleeplessness to cancer without drugs or surgery.

People with ailments are looking for alternative methods to deal with the emotional and physical issues that rear their ugly head when you least expect it.

The health management industry is bilking the unsuspecting public while promoting continued dependence on the system for health management. For instance, if you have pain in a particular area of the body, you can go the doctor and get a prescription medication to reduce or eliminate the pain. The prescription medication is scientifically designed to target the specific ailment, but also possesses a host of side-effects.

No problem, as the doctor has prescription medications to treat the ailment(s) arising from the use of the original prescription, each with its own set of side effects with prescription solutions for these new ailments also.

Is it just me? Or does anyone else see a problem with this form of health management system?

It occurred to me long ago, when making deathbed visits to people in the last moments of their lives, the mass of little brown bottles on the nightstand made me think something might be wrong with the system. I’m not saying it is entirely broken, as many lives are saved and life enhanced by medical intervention, treatments and surgeries. But there appears to be a dark side to medicine is disconcerting, to say the least.

Your body will heal itself if you love it with everything youve got You cannot chastise punish or poison yourself to health
Your body will heal itself if you love it with everything you’ve got. You cannot chastise, punish, or poison yourself to health.

People are waking up to the reality that something is amiss and they are seeking alternatives. There are thousands of non-medical treatment alternatives for just about anything that ails you, all within a few keystrokes of Google.

I actually know people – real, live people – who have healed themselves from chronic diagnosis indicating a short-term death sentence (given six months to live). Rather than take the prescribed treatment approach to dealing with their life-threatening circumstance, they reach out and embrace alternative treatment modalities varying across the board.

All the people who have decided to take an alternative approach to healing themselves using natural, spiritual or other types of alternative non-medical treatment, have had to deal with the negative side effects of being attacked by friends, relatives and licensed medical professionals, most being asked, “Are you crazy?”

Most of them proceed in secrecy, so as to avoid the negative feedback from others who disagree with their decision to seek out alternative treatment models. In fact, they report that maintaining a positive environment is a critical component to their treatment alternative.

I embrace personal health care and take responsibility for my own wellness without using prescription medications and feel as though my efforts are very effective, though it takes continual research and experimentation because what works for one person might not work for someone else.

Fortunately, there are health care professionals who also embrace these alternative treatment modalities. In this way, I can focus on my own self help therapy with holistic support and reaching out to a naturopath in search of an intervention offered by homeopathy as an alternative to seeking a traditional doctor who is likely to rely solely on prescription medications.

A naturopathic doctor will offer holistic medicine alternatives, like homeopathic remedies which are natural remedies and other alternatives, and a holistic doctor will refer you to a medical doctor, if necessary, to augment a complete integrative medicine approach.

I honor professionals and their work on both ends of the healthcare treatment spectrum.

What is your favorite alternative health treatment?
