Awakening and Enlightenment

At a recent event, someone asked me what is awakening and enlightenment. I can understand the confusion because therapists, the spiritually inclined, and lightworkers from all walks of life use the words “awakening” and “enlightenment” in a variety of different ways. So, when I respond to a question, like this, be aware that my response will only represent my understanding of any given thing in this moment in time.

Any definition of anything is an attempt to cement an idea in time and space, and this is a psychological fantasy because our world, our universe, is not stagnant. Nothing remains the same. Everything is in the process of growing, expanding, and evolving, but having these definitions and understandings can help us navigate the landscape as we make our way through the 3D terrain.

That said, in my practice, I work with people at many stages of their lives, whether they are working their way through the 7 Phases of Personal Growth, or the 7 Phases of Spiritual Growth. In the work that I do, I see Awakening as that first transitionary step between living one’s life from a personal perspective to living life spiritually, beyond physicality.

Life is more accurately a continuum and it’s like an ever-morphing liquid. Delineation of lines is difficult at best, but for those who work with individuals who are progressing through this continuum, it can be very helpful for us to quickly evaluate where someone is at, so that we can help them progress further in the most effective manner.

Certainly, there are many kinds of awakening that occur throughout an individual’s life, and I do not discount anyone’s use of the vernacular in any manner. I refer only to my now work, which is subject to change at any moment.

Awakening, while it may occur in brief clips throughout one’s disillusionment, is predominantly expressed as that moment in time (which can be a prolonged experience) where your eyes are opened to the world as it is, not as you’ve been led to believe. You begin to understand that things are not as they appear, and that there is a system in place to keep this knowledge from getting out.

During the process of awakening your thoughts systems are challenged, and since you’ve been programmed for judgment, fear and punishment, right and wrong, good and bad, sacred and evil, just and unjust, forgiveness and revenge, you utilize these very thought systems in an attempt to make sense of it all.

In this phase you are breaking free from the mass consciousness, having independent thought and playing in the unlimited field of endless possibilities, while exercising your sacred divinity. This is a mind-blowing experience, which could feel like a psychotic episode, at first. For after all, how could it be possible that the whole world is living a lie?

As you awaken, you start to live your life in a way that honors the world in a different way, Even if you’re initially feeling more separate from the rest of the world at this time, you have an understanding that you are actually a part of the people soup. You are a growing, expanding, evolving component of the whole, and your continued evolution plays an integral part in the evolution of mass consciousness, as more and more of us continue to awaken.

This leads you on a new path in which heads in the direction of enlightenment.

Just as “Awakening” has many definitions and facets, so does “Enlightenment,” as there are so many perceptions and uses of it throughout our society, culture, and among those who are expanding in consciousness.

In my work, I see enlightenment as the gateway between Phase 3 (Master) and Phase 4 (Cosmic Consciousness) among the 7 Phases of Spiritual Growth. This is when the individual begins to shed one’s individuality, which to me represents the part of one’s journey beyond the confinements of this third dimension.

Enlightenment is a progression following awakening. You are just trying to make your way in a new world full of chaos and love which was unrecognizable prior to your awakening and enlightenment is the process of letting go of the bondage of your humanity, while embracing all of your divine human attributes and abilities, without judgment.

Enlightenment is a negative-energy-free-zone. Enlightened people have a higher perspective and understanding, do not see any separation in people or anything in the world or the universe, yet can fully appreciate the divinity in each individual expression, experience, or perspective.

From the vantage point of enlightenment, everything is good and plays a sacred part in everything getting better all the time, no matter what it looks like on the surface.

When fully enlightened, there is no drama, no judgment, no separation, only peace, and harmony, even in the face of chaos. For the chaos is divine in itself, for the sacred transformation or evolution may not be possible without clear demarcation between a prior state and the state following growth, expansion, or evolution, and this process can be abrupt, shocking, and painful.

Admittedly, any recognition of spiritual exposure or interaction at any time in anyone’s life, whether amidst the personal or spiritual growth process, would also qualify as being exposed to, or engulfed in, the light of the higher presence, which is also referred to enlightenment, if it is recognized as such.

Awakening and enlightenment are not states of consciousness that you just step into. They are processes that take time to progress through.

Enlightenment and Spiritual Awakening

The process of enlightenment and spiritual awakening is as individual as we all are so to experience it is unique to each person though many characteristics appear to be common among those who are in the process of awakening.

First and foremost, the person is awakening to the idea or knowingness that there is more going on here than meets the eye, here on planet Earth, as God’s spark begins to burn more brightly in you.

Awakening to the fact that there is far more to this life that you first were led to believe is the first clue that you’ve begun your spiritual awakening. You are unable to see past all the barrage of life’s distractions unless you have given a glimpse of something far more real than the life we’ve come to accept as it has been presented to us.

You also are experiencing an excitement or reverence for your surroundings, especially of nature, flora, and fauna, as being special or sacred, as you honor your ability to be in its presence and to share the world with it in all its glory.

Your senses are heightened as you awaken you become more sensitive, a growing awareness of others, and the knowingness of there being so much more of the life experience which is waiting to be revealed to you in vibrant detail.

You are more interested in staying present or being in the now, as opposed to being oppressed by things that have happened in the past. You may be learning techniques to deal with the past, heal past wounds, or you may be one of the ones who simply awaken all at once and the past just falls away, like an old jacket, as you walk into your new, awakened life.

You notice there is a difference between you, the you that you were born to be which is a highly connected part of your higher self and God is vastly different than your ego which has been programmed by society to override your more spiritually inclined sensibilities. It may take a while to sort out the dichotomy of you, who you really are made of pure love and your egoic personality which is dominant prior to awakening and based on fear, not love.

Awakening is not restricted to those who believe and those who do not, as those who are awakening can span all systems of belief and/or non-belief, from atheism to spirituality and churches, believers and non-believers alike and awakening and expanding as part of the evolutionary process of all human beings, though some may resist the evolutionary process, their future generations will not be able to.

You are becoming more authentically real and transparent. You realize there is nothing to prove and nothing to be gained from feeling as though you are better or more deserving than anyone else. Although experiencing life from your own perspective you realize that you are one with all your fellow human beings.

The spiritually awakened feel a growing sense of connectedness or oneness with all peoples, things, and life itself. In fact, you may start feeling as if you’ve never felt so alive as you start to live life to its fullest, savoring each breath and the expansive nature of your growing love with every beat of your heart.

Beyond what one might think of as seeing the silver lining in a less than desirous situation, the spiritually awakening and expanding see the sacred divinity in all things, both blessed and vile, which makes little sense to our less evolved, heavily programmed, and unenlightened contemporaries. We do not judge them. We bless them and allow them to find their own way, or not. Their journey is just as sacred as ours.

You are changing and you’re noticing the change. You’re noticing a decided and distinct difference between the awakening “you” who you are becoming and the “you” who you were prior to your spiritual awakening as if you’ve been reborn, and in a sense, you have been, like a butterfly emerging from his or her chrysalis.

You are embracing a more peaceful state of being, where love expands, you have a growing compassion and understanding of others as you become more tolerant and accept things simply as they are, without taking them personally. You bless all others and are less likely to hold onto the idea that one religious perspective is more right than another.

Instead, you understand that everyone is only doing the best they can with what they have, just as you are in regard to any understanding or view of life.

You have a higher respect for your relationship with your body, seek to find ways to honor it, and celebrate all the experiences which can be enjoyed by maintaining your body as a further extension of your higher self, accompanied by a respectful growing moral ethics and/or personal code which is not dictated from without but embraced and emerges from within (or above).

Your relationships are more real, as you find less satisfaction with idle chit-chat and seek to connect more deeply and have more meaningful relationships.

Among other signs, these might give you insight as to what to expect as you begin to awaken.

No Darkness vs Light

People who have grown up in and are a part of “the real world” are so well conditioned they have no idea what is available to them. For the most part, they are unaware of their own divinity and power. They have no idea that their ego has been conditioned to prevent them from seeing the unlimited potentialities of the universe.

It is no fault of theirs that they perceive the world this way. It is the default setting for the human condition in the current day and age. But times are a changing, as increasingly people are awakening to the reality of so much of everything they know, believe, and would give their lives to defend, are lies.

They are, as we all were, victims of immersive programming through social engineering, family rearing, and the constant drone of media exposure. Who can blame them? Not one of us because we’ve been there, too.

The last thing anyone wants to hear is that everything they know, believe, or lived their life for, is not as it appears. That is unless their heart is soft enough, and they’ve been brave enough to start looking at the inconsistencies to question reality-as-they-know-it for themselves.

You Have Lost Your Mind!

It is perfectly understandable that someone who is lost in the darkness, and therefore “normal,” might think that you, as you challenge everything they believe as being true is anything but the truth and believe you have lost your mind!

Your perspective is so contrary to everything they’ve been programmed to believe that you must be in need of psychiatric help or be locked up and medicated for your own good. They love you, they do, and they do not want to see you stray too far from the fold.

Even so, people from all walks of life, are awakening, even scientists cannot deny the expansiveness of life, the universe, and the awesome potential of the quantum sciences as we see the contrast in what we previously thought to be.

This awakening is not all wine and roses. When your whole world is blown apart, you can experience an earth-shattering awakening and as you begin to realize things are not as they appear, and you spent your whole life believing lies, you can be deeply shaken as you adjust to this new knowingness.

You don’t need psychotic drug therapy. What you need is to take some time to adjust to your new realities and to seek the unlimited resources of love within, which is your birthright.

Different people emerge from awakening in different ways. Some people actually respond to the awakening, not with love, but with an increased fear and negative fervor. They are shocked by the contrast between what they’ve been led to believe and how different the things they’ve held to so tightly was misrepresented as a method to manipulate and control their thoughts and actions. These are those who become obsessed with the dichotomy and are labeled as radicals, nonconformists, and conspiracy theorists.

These rebels fueled by anger take it upon themselves to try to educate the “believers” of their folly. While this effort does have it’s place, it is not the path of those who live life in the light most fully. For in the light, there is only light, love, compassion, healing, and the acceptance that things are as they are.

There is No Darkness vs Light

There is no war of light against the darkness. There is only the growth and expansion of love and light, until the darkness can no longer be effectively used against the world and its peoples. Focussing on the darkness can distract someone on the path to light and love from their fullest expansive potential.

In the light, there is no place for complaining about conspiracies, government or otherwise, oppression, manipulation of the masses, violence, war, or rumors of wars. These are the ideas represented by the darkness. There is no denying the prevalence of the darkness, but the antithesis is the proliferation of the light, not the damnation of all that is dark.

There exists a gray area of enlightenment and there are those who are called to the ministry of exposing the dark. For those who choose this mission, they are willing to forfeit all the benefits of being fully engulfed in the light for the greater good, the warriors who battle against the darkness. There is room in the coming age for all peoples of all callings and each of us plays a critical role.

For you, you are answering the call of unconditional love and pure light, if you dare, and others who are on a similar path will be drawn to you, and you to them, for all of us are necessary for the evolutionary expansion of our world and its inhabitants. Here there is no judgment, only each individual pursuing their own calling, collectively we are all part of the expansion of love and light.

One day, the darkness will no longer be sustainable, and light will prevail.

A world of light and love is what we all have hope for once enlightenment reaches critical mass.

Hanging Out with Drunks

In an analogy in The Mastery of Love, don Miguel Ruiz relates an example of hanging out with drunks at a bar or party as a comparison of how most of us live life. You hang out with these people who are just like you, they are all numb and drunk, having a good time, and every once and a while someone breaks out in a vast drama, but for the most part, you and the rest of the group are smiling, laughing, enjoying yourself, the camaraderie and you’re happy hanging out with drunks.

Then, once you begin to awaken to a higher version of life and start seeing things as they really are, it’s like being the only sober person at the party. After you’ve become more aware about life in general and your own life, numbing yourself is no longer desired or necessary to help you get through this life.

You think this is all well and good, but you remember how fun it felt when you were hanging out with drunks, so you go out to spend the evening with your friends.

Only now, you’re not compelled to drink, and you are not drunk. From this vantage point, your experience of hanging out with drunks is very different. You see people numbing themselves because they are looking for ways to avoid the reality of living the life they lead. You see them all celebrating the fog they all share, and while they appear to be happy, there is no happiness in them.

After a while, they notice you are not drunk, you are not joining them in their drunken celebration of not having to deal with life, and they accuse you of having something wrong with you.

The drunks prefer you to drink and enjoy being drunk with them. When you fail to participate and turn down their offers to buy you a drink so that you can essentially be an active participant with the other drunks, they get paranoid about you, see you as an outsider.

The drunks feel your sobriety as a drain on the energy of the overall group, you’re a downer, spectator, spy, or judging them like a self-righteous goody two shoes, and while none of this is true, you don’t feel like you fit in with this group of people anymore.

You are less enthusiastic about hanging out with drunks. You don’t judge them or feel sorry for them (because that would be condescending). You realize we’re all doing the best we can with what we have, honor the time that you spent with this group as a necessary part of your journey, you love and bless them.

There comes a time when you start to look for other people to hang out with, people who are more resonate with your current frame of mind, people who do not feel the need to numb themselves and disassociate their connection to this life.

You keep your eyes open and aware enough to find people who are more like you with whom you can associate and socialize with.

Periodically, the drunks will notice your absence and seek you out to rejoin them in their drunkenness because they believe being drunk is an important part of life and they feel your lack of drunkenness is not good for you. They know how awful it would be for them to try to manage life without being drunk. Just the thought of it represents pain for them, so they want to save you by inviting you to come back.

All of this is perfectly normal and fine in all its awkwardness as you move from the day-to-day struggle for survival in everyday life, to enlightenment.

Live a Better Life? Why?

Okay, people are getting to know me as the, “Live a better life” guy, and periodically I get the occasional wise guy or gal who comes up to me and says something, like, “What? Why would I want a better life?”

It stands to reason, that the idea of living a better life does not apply to everyone. As a matter of fact, it only appeals to a very small percentage of people. So, if the ideas that I and others are suggesting sound unreasonable to you, guess what? It’s not intended for you. Although, just because the idea doesn’t sound good to you today, doesn’t mean it won’t be more appealing at some other time, because we know that people change. Not all of them, and not necessarily en masse, but there’s a tendency for people to change and/or evolve.

And for the changers and evolvers, these changes and evolution is very appealing. Those of us who realize it and are welcoming change and evolution are quite a bit ahead of the curve, but as each one of us awakens, a spark is ignited in someone else and they start to seek a better life. And sometime soon, the whole planet will be ablaze with evolutionary change.

Of course, there are those who would like to keep things from changing. Many people like things just the way they are; so much, in fact that they might be willing (and able) to do anything in their power to prevent the idea of an evolutionary change from taking place. These people see no benefit of an evolutionary change, because they see their station in life as being very good, maybe even perfect for them. But if other people did change and/or evolve, it would affect their lives in a negative way. This could be for a wide variety of reasons, which I will not offer speculation on at this time. You might ask yourself why someone might not want the world to change… and see what you come up with.

Keep in mind, while I am encouraging people to live a better life, I am not telling them how to do it. I think that if someone is leading a specific method of change, it might be more cult than evolution. For a real evolution to take place each person who evolves must allow, negotiate and manage his or her own evolution. The evolving person no longer desires to be herded, like human cattle. This is the emergence of a higher version of individuality.

As we are a part of this evolution, we are open to ideas and stories that challenge our (many) years of programming that has effectively prevented our inclination or ability to desire anything more than what we believed to be within our reach. But we are survivors; not unlike pests who can be controlled by dangerous toxins. After a while, the pest evolves and develops immunity to the toxin that once might have had deadly consequences.

Our evolution is rendering toxic ideals useless as we (some of us, and more of us, every day) are developing an immunity to the systems that prevented us from wanting a better life for ourselves, others, and future generations.

So, why might you be considering the idea of living a better life?

Joy

You may have had the occasional joyous experience, though it has often been just a fleeting moment. You start to wonder, could it be possible to maintain a state of joy for a longer period of time? (You may have even tried to create states of joy for you that might have thought were sustainable, only to find that no matter how you tried, they left you unfulfilled.)

People who are on the evolutionary journey are experiencing greater states of joy and happiness that are sustainable for long periods of time and are not dependent on outside circumstances, situations, or material things.

For the people who are living a better life, they are finding joy in the most amazing places, their work, their activities, even their innermost thoughts. They are living a better life and are enjoying all this life has to offer.

Feel Good

These evolutionary folks are in the habit of finding ways to feel good, also without dependence on what the world might like to impose upon us. They are finding the love within themselves, for themselves, others and the world. They are more likely to be positive and see the good in all things. Even though they are increasingly more independent, they are also developing a sense of the idea that we, the human race, all of us, are not only in this together, but are one, as a whole. And while they are celebrating their individuality, they do not compare themselves to others, or expect conformity, celebrating everyone’s right to find their own self, and respect their right to celebrate it.

Deeper Connection

The people who desire a better life seek a deeper connection, to themselves and others, as well as inviting a deeper connection to their higher source (referred to by many labels and names). These people are less likely to be attracted to surface conversation, or what’s in the news. They are more likely attracted to connecting with people who are in tune with who they are, how they think and how they feel, in search of deeper meaning in life.

Tolerance

If you are in the process of evolving to live a better life, you are more tolerant, loving and respecting of yourself and others. You don’t hold yourself to impossible standards. Neither do you expect compliance from anyone else. You are less likely to judge yourself harshly, and increasingly finding yourself less likely to judge others. You realize that we are all only doing the best with what we have.

Value

As you expand and evolve, the things you value begin to change. You start seeing the important and meaningful things in life have greater value to you than the things that you might have once coveted, if you were previously a victim of vain commercialism. While you might still find joy in the finer things in life, the true value of the people with whom you share a deep connection, love and care about take precedence over the value of material things. Real relationships take on a new sheen as the people in your life, your family, partners, and friends become your life’s priceless treasures (not as belongings or possessions, but they are the reason you love to love and value them so highly).

I don’t know about you, but these things are very appealing to me and I am allowing this evolution to take place in me.

Red Pill or Blue Pill?

As you approach life and become more aware and able to see things as they really are, you are able to get a glimpse of how things actually are and you’re discovering that the thoughts, beliefs, ideals and principles that you once revered as undeniable truths are not as they were represented to you.

You start to question things…

Once you’ve discovered that one or more things that have been beat into your head as constructs of thought to control your perception of what is and what is not, it makes you wonder and ask the question,

“What else have I been indoctrinated with?”

You look at things from different perspectives and notice inconsistencies, cracks in the surface which if investigated, lead you to underground chasms filled with data that makes you question even more. You start to realize that much, if not all, that you believed in and held so closely dear to you, are misrepresentations force fed to you in an effort to control your mind, and you start to

Question Everything

As you dig deeper, you find that not only you, but everyone (or almost everyone) you know is also a victim of this massive deception. At first, you become angry at those who have filled your head with all these lies, and then you realize, they, too, are victims of this sinister programming.

They are so embroiled with the lies, that they have no choice but to propagate the deceit. They are so compelled to insist that the lies are true; they are willing to fight, even die, in the defense of it.

What can you do with this awareness?

Good question. It doesn’t take long to figure out, if you tell anyone close to you about your discoveries, they will initiate their protocol to defend their programmed hyperbole by any means necessary. They will make fun of you, intimidate you, or accuse you of losing touch with reality because they have been indoctrinated so pervasively. They may refer you to medical professionals who can prescribe medication which is designed to keep you from questioning your programming. At some point, either literally, or metaphorically, you are faced with a decision of selecting,

The Red Pill or the Blue Pill

The blue pill is the one you’ve been force-fed since birth. You’ve blindly taken your daily dose of blue every day. The blue pill makes you susceptible to all the programming to which you are exposed every day.

The blue pill keeps us fearful and insecure but the taking of it promises to keep us safe and secure as we allow ourselves to wither into complacency and mediocrity.

Most everyone in your world since your emergence on this planet has spent a lifetime taking the blue pill and they know no other way to be. They believe that if anyone were to question the blue, they must be corrected, exiled or possibly even exterminated.

Then there is the red pill. The red pill neutralizes the effects of the blue pill and allows you to see things as they really are. Once you have taken the red pill, you are blasted into a shocking state of confusion, because you are so used to being under the influence of the blue pill.

It’s no wonder that many, who have experimented with the red pill, quickly abandon the idea and rush to re-ingest the blue pill.

If you decide to keep taking the red pill you will no doubt start seeking others who are taking the red pill and you may feel a sort of kinship with redders whom you might think are like-minded. Just be aware that even among the redders, there are still users who while they are expanding are still dragging attributes of the blues along with them. (We all do this to some degree as we are on the path to enlightenment.)

The red journey is one to be taken by you, alone, though you may commiserate and frolic with redders along the way, keep in mind to cease to expand will lead to stagnation. And while not progressing or continuing to evolve can be somewhat comfortable, the decision must be yours whether you will subside into complacency, or continue to grow and expand.

Up Your Enlightened Expansion

You’re on the path… You’re beginning to see that things are not as they appear… You are on a path of enlightenment… and you’re looking around for clues…

This is where you’re potentially get thrown off-track.

Once you see that things are not the way you’ve been taught and programmed to think and believe, it is impossible to go backward. Oh, sure, you could (and it feels more safe to) return to the same old life routine that you’ve lived your whole life prior to this realization, but there will always be the notion that it’s all just rote motion.

If you’re brave enough, you continue to consider inviting other thought patterns and in your search for further enlightenment.

You could potentially be waylaid by looming information, a persuasive guru, or someone else’s journey.

And what you could miss is the most important piece: You. Your journey is not about anyone else’s journey. To fully experience your own enlightenment, you must find your own way. No two persons’ enlightenment will be the same. So, if you find yourself following someone else’s journey, you’re not doing it right.

Certainly, when you’re venturing into uncharted territory, allowing the flow of new information could be invaluable in your search for truth or expansion, but by all means, make your own way.

There are so many aspects of your expansion that could distract you from your expansion if you get stuck in a particular system or methodology. Any of these things (in themselves) is not it at all, only a particular rung on the ladder. Don’t get stuck there.

Sure, when you’ve gotten there (Law of Attraction, Quantum Mechanics, etc…), wherever you might be or have been, it is only a step. There is another step beyond, waiting for your arrival, and no one can tell you what that is. It awaits you uniquely.

You can spend as much time as necessary on a particular step, but know there is another one waiting. You are breaking free from the herd, while it is exciting to hand with like-minded folks, don’t allow yourself to become a member of another (smaller) herd.

I see my path as being a spiritual journey because that is a common vibration as far back as I can remember, though thought and form has continued to expand daily, some days more than others. As forwardly mobile as I am, I, too, can get in a rut but once I’ve acclimated, I am looking for my next step.

Some people get hung up on the term “spiritual.” Well, get over it. What it means, is that you start considering concepts that are so beyond anything you’ve been programmed to think, that it boggles the mind of modern man and when you realize that there is so much more going on, even when you think nothing else could be happening… You are only scratching the surface. It’s so far out there, we only refer to it using the term “spiritual” because there really is no other word for it.

Plus, what do you care?

You should be focused on your individual journey, and allow others to find their own way (we call that tolerance), realizing they’re going to end up somewhere else. And that’s true enlightened expansion.

I am tempted, sometimes, to use the phrase, “Believe me,” because I know a certain thing to be true. But, really? Any truth I speak is only true for me, in the moment the words escape my lips. If you (or anyone else) finds anything of value in the words I’ve uttered, great. If not, excellent.

How often does my truth change? I’ve recited a heartfelt monologue of truth, only to stop (sometimes before completing the sentence), squint my eyes, tilt my head, and interrupt myself with, “Wait a minute… That might not be true…”

It matters not. Don’t believe me, or anyone else. You have to figure this out and allow it to unfold uniquely for you… and if you dare, be bold enough not to believe yourself. That is to say, be open to the idea that what you believe – right now – may not be true. At least be willing to consider there is more… and more will appear…

Meet Your Ego

Ego is that part of us that insists on being right, asserts our correctness over anyone else’s being wrong. The ego will persuade you to argue or fight for what is perceived to be “right” in order to defend or justify the ego’s position. It is the ego which is commonly in opposition to the “heart” or that more spiritual component that often lies dormant within.

meet-your-ego

As the heart begins to awaken, becomes empowered to expand and influence the host (our bodies) its energy field increases affecting not only ourselves but, others, the environment and the world around us. The heart honors you (the real, authentic soul being who you are), powers your yearning for growth, expansion, peace and harmony and accesses forces and data unattainable by logic or linear thinking.

All the attributes of the heart are often locked away deep inside you, but as you awaken it can permeate your whole being, including every cell of your body, if you could allow to release it and let it flow. The one thing that can thwart the heart’s efforts to expand is the ego, threatened by the idea of selflessness, and will stop at nothing to restrain the heart by any means to preserve itself.

When approached with ideas, methods and tools that could enhance the expansion of the heart or spiritual awareness, the ego steps in, asserting, “What a bunch of hooey!” or some similar thought, flooding your mind with ideologies, concepts and words that threaten you, make you fearful or susceptible to the ridicule of others.

While your heart is trying to break out of its locked box, not only your mind but the entire society which surrounds us will attempt to dissuade you from allowing this inner growth to take place, as this is the mentality of the herd of egos by which we are surrounded.

Deciding to go allow your individual expansion may make you the black sheep in the fold and even though you may feel more and more that you are less and less a sheep, it might be prudent to not draw attention to your burgeoning enlightenment.

And it is here, that the ego will attempt to pull a fast-one on you.

When the ego has felt that it has lost the war of itself to your insistence to allow the expansion of the greater part of you, the ego will begin a campaign to throw the entire process off-track by making you not only differentiated from the rest of the sheep (though it is true that you are becoming decisively “different” in deed) but “better” than anyone else.

If the ego can convince you that you are superior to others because of your enlightenment, then it has won. The ego is now back in the saddle and will do whatever it can to reduce your effectiveness to the greater community, while restricting your access to continued personal growth.

Enlightenment is allowing that loving, compassionate, selfless part of you to expand so greatly that there is very little (if any) self left for the ego to battle for.

If you are interested, there are ways to deal with the ego.

Live Love and Shine Your Light

Live, love and do good

In this life, there is little more meaningful and everlasting than living a love-filled life and leaving something good behind.

live-love-and-do-good-let-your-light-shine-brightly-do-so-without-expectation-or-pride

Ever wonder what you will be known for after you have completed this life’s journey? At the very least, I would like to think, if within the scope of my life I was able to help one person grasp the idea of living a better life and sharing that idea with others that even if in this small way, I have helped to make the world a better place.

Just one person who shares the idea with one other person, that’s all it takes. Of course, my intention is to affect more than one person but one person would be enough to justify give my life meaning and value.

Plus, that’s all we can really hope for, if not one person, then maybe one at a time, on the best of days possibly many people might be able to be influenced to embrace their gifts and become a light in a world so dimly lit.

Let your light shine brightly

Let the light of love and truth shine from within and send a powerful beacon of hope to others around you.

Do not be dissuaded by circumstance, feeling as though you are not worthy or due to any lack of support from others because you, your message, your gifts are the light you were given to shine on the world around you.

It is reasonable to think that you are only one person, feeling as though you are a small, singular or inconsequential light all alone. But you are not alone.

The world is filled with other lights, just like you. Even if you feel as though you are alone, you are not. Other lights, similar to yours have been strategically placed throughout the planet. While individually, each light may not be brilliant but when all the lights shine brightly in unison, the resulting light will appear to burn more brightly than the sun.

And in that moment the world transforms into a planet filled with peace and love, for in the light darkness has no power.

Do so without expectation or pride

It’s important to keep your heart and the light which emanates from it as possible. Even if times get rough and it appears as if no one can see your light, the important thing is to keep it lit. Sometimes you might feel as you are the only one who sees it, or might feel like it has gone out but it hasn’t.

While your heart yet beats, it emits a light frequency that permeates the environment which surrounds you. It is felt – though may not be acknowledged – by all life within your proximity. All life and matter responds to your heart’s light of life frequency.

The more you share your love and gifts with others in humility, the more brightly it shines if you expect nothing in return. Share your message, sing your song, exercise your special abilities and do so without expecting thanks, recognition, applause or remuneration and your efforts will be multiplied.

In the end your gifts will be acknowledged

This is the beauty of being able to embrace the idea, “if only in some small way…”

While you may feel as though all your efforts are not recognized or even in vain, keep in mind that you are not the only one. The shining of your light will have contributed to answering the call of a planet yearning for enlightenment’s evolution.

Sharing and shining represent your calling and are key components of your legacy.

If your intentions are pure, your light is combined with all the other lights in the world. While one candle may seem insignificant, while as part of a grouping of 1 million candles can have a profound effect, much like a lighthouse lamp.

You are the light
Shine and shine
Even if only in some small way
And make the world a better place

We Interrupt This Program

You are on the path of personal growth and enlightenment. You are making excellent strives as your heart and mind begin to open more and more to the possibilities as your consciousness expands…

There exists a level of mass consciousness that permeates the inhabitants of the earth. How – or for what reason – these ideas and concepts are nurtured and promoted as they continue to proliferate is a subject for debate, or you can just relax and realize it simply is what it is.

Just when you have inkling that there may be more, life will cause another interruption: misunderstandings (carrying heavy emotional impact), natural disasters, political unrest and polarity, inhumane actions, breaches of security, a terrorist attack, a disfiguring or fatal disease outbreak, growing rates of depression, suicide, wars and rumors of wars… a near endless supply of distractions designed to pull your mind out of the ethers and place your attention firmly back on terra firma.

Yet, in spite of the distractions, you – chosen one – you persist and press on to the new awakenings that lay ahead. So, here you are, growing and expanding beyond what might be considered prudent by the general population as well as other unseen forces who sense you are on the brink of a breakthrough.

Just when you’re about to move to the next level of your evolution, you are abruptly interrupted

We interrupt this program emergency broadcast system distraction law of attraction

As you approach this brink, alarms begin to sound in unseen stations in, through and surrounding our communities that send waves of uncomfortable discord emerging within your neighboring family, loved ones and citizenry, signaling them to notice your growth and do whatever is necessary to save you from your impending demise.

There are many distractions and obstacles in place to prevent the masses from even considering a path of expanded consciousness. Many societal systems (the Internet) and media manipulations are effective distractions that keep most of us in a state of moderate fear. In most cases, this fear is all that is necessary to keep the sui generis from seeking higher truth.

But you have been called – and you answered the call – to maintain your conscious evolution without regard to a lifetime of programming and all of the tools and systems in place to keep you in-line with the managed mind of the general populace.

Meanwhile, you must be stopped. You are a threat to all belief systems put in place to control the peoples of the world. You will be disrespected, ridiculed, possibly the subject of intervention… anything to save you from taking a bite from the fruit of knowledge.

It is not uncommon for individuals on the path of personal growth and change to meet massive disapproval. People are (and the world is) threatened by you. People will hate you and want to want to drag you down to their level. It is the nature of the mob cult, but because of their numbers, they see themselves as “normal” and you as the black sheep that some believe must be saved (brought back into acceptable alignment with the masses) or (though more extreme) destroyed (for your own good, in an effort to save you from a fate worse than death).

Since the most prolific new thought leaders have short life spans (as they are assassinated, or – more recently – simply die prematurely of “natural causes”) those of us on the path to enlightenment continue to progress and grow, though independently, subversively in an attempt to survive for the benefit of the greater good.

And as we continue to expand in numbers, power and consciousness, there is an growing love and light that is affecting our planet and all its inhabitants, with very little notice… and things are beginning to change.

Oh, you might not see it with the naked eye, but it is there – and you are part of it – for without you and the rest of us, it would not be possible.

Even though the media – and all the powers controlling this planet – would like you to think that we are in dire straits or on the brink of disaster (or the end of the world), there is a growing consciousness that will continue to guide our planet toward the entertaining miraculous and leading us to true happiness, fulfillment, satisfaction and peace.

God bless you for taking the high road.
